Japanese food is rich in culture, being recognized by the UN for it cultural significance. It has introduced the concept of umami to the Western world. Has all the typical dishes you would find in a Japanese restaurant.
Only down side is not enough pictures, the book is mainly text.

Book starts with Table of conetnts where recipes are broken up into meal categories.
Free ebook offer and other works by the author.
Intro talks about Japanese food and how its culture matters. Good history of how the meals came to the US.
Another chapter lists ingredients and what each is and why it's important to your health.
Some color photos.
Each recipe starts with a title, servings, prep and cook time, medium sized color photo and list of ingredients.
Directions are given and there is no nutritional information available.
Not sure if you can substitute for your healthier dietary needs: low sodium, low fat, low sugar products.
Some of the dishes look very nutritous and appitizing.
Love the basic steps about how to make sushi, comes with photos also.
Also like that it gives you serving suggestions. Might be difficult to find some of the ingredients: sake, mirin, wasabi root, chinese mustard, etc.
Desserts even look appealing to me.
Other works by the author are highlighted at the end. Converstion cooking and oven temperature charts are also included at the end.
