About Kasturi Patra
After a decade-long stint in the world of consulting and equity analysis, Kasturi realized that her true calling lies in writing. Her debut novel, A Mother's Goodbye (released in July 2021), had won the novel pitch competition by Half Baked Beans Publishers. Her work has appeared in literary magazines including Jaggery, Litbreak, Strands Lit Sphere, Wordweavers, 50-Word Stories, Lakeview International Journal, and TMYS Review. She has been a part of many anthologies such as Bengal Write Ahead, Escape Velocity, Kunti’s Confessions, When Women Speak Up, and EquiVerseSpace. One of her stories was adapted into a film and won in the 'Best Short Film' category at the 2020 Tagore International Film Festival. Kasturi also works as a freelance writer. She has written for several US-based corporations and for Women’s Web, India’s leading website for women. She has been a voracious reader ever since she was a toddler, and when not writing, you’ll usually find her curled up with a book. She lives with her husband and four adopted animals (two dogs and two cats, in case you were wondering).
