I really enjoyed this book in isolation but I definitely think I enjoyed it more because I’d loved the twisted series before. It was so fun getting to hear and experience little snippets of Christian and Stella, and to understand what was going on in the background when we had previously encountered Vivian and Dante.
Vivian is a different character to the twisted girls before her and I love that. She’s got different reasons behind her behaviour and feelings. Dante is what we have come to expect of the twisted men we know and love, rich, possessive, angry and vengeful. What’s not to love.
I’m obsessed with the way their story starts as it is different and intriguing, it was fun reading knowing that we had the whole picture but some of the characters didn’t 👀 it felt like we were in on a secret… and it helped to understand Dante’s unusual behaviour.
The plot twists and turns are what’s great about Huang’s books, yet again this is full of them. I like that this book is so family oriented and discusses different cultural expectations, it’s something that is handled well and really makes the plot.
And of course, just like the Twisted series, the book has got some fun spicy scenes 🌶 to go along with a clever story.
