5.0 out of 5 stars Revolting. Period.
By Aatif on 10 August 2018
Some would argue that the day has come, or is dawning. Written as an allegory for life in occupied Paris, Camus’s novel is not an up-close portrait of evil or domination. Instead it acts as a guide to the victimhood and despondency of an uncontrollable crisis; it is why it resonates as strongly as anything else published during the midnight of the last century.

Albert Camus believed that to be a true existentialist you had to remove yourself from society as much as possible since a belief in the foundation of government was to conform. Conforming to society norms is considered bad, it doesn't allow the individual to progress and reach his own decisions Camus realized, however, that restricting himself from all social conformity was impossible. Camus depicts a man with very little emotion. Once in a while he shows a bit of heart, but for the most part, he gives a robotic appearance. The character expresses no feeling about anything except that light is a sign of evil or annoyance, while the dark becomes a place of calm and seriousness. In society, the common idea is that light is good and evil grows in the darkest of places, but in Albert Camus' novel, evil is good and the light is bad. In The Stranger, Albert Camus uses Mersault and his experiences to convey the philosophy that man is full of anxiety and despair with no meaning in his life except for simple existence.

Each one of the pieces are brilliantly written and will have an everlasting impact. It will be a serious read yet will Force you to think.

Look around and you will witness how Camus works are true till today's world.

For literary lovers this is a must add to your collection. Got it for Rs. 350 only.

5.0 out of 5 stars Smooth delivery, Amazing Purchase. Camus is love.
By Arnab Rony on 7 January 2021
"You will never be happy if you continue to search for what happiness consists of. You will never live if you are looking for the meaning of life."

- Albert Camus

Finally my journey begins. And it began already with a bang when I first started reading The Stranger/The Outsider and that's when I knew what I'm in for.

Received in very good condition. Original Everyman's Library. Binding is very strong. Hardcore with no scratch. The Cover Jacket is just fascinating and beautiful. The page quality is superb, thick and good to eyes. Font size is wonderful. Translation is easy.

Beautiful purchase.

1.0 out of 5 stars Incorrect birth date of Albert Camus🙈
By Nidhi on 7 June 2021
I am highly disappointed with this book, the moment I opened this, it shows Albert Camus birth date which is incorrect. He born on 07 November, 1913. Now god knows, what else the writer makes the other mistakes. 🙈 I am sceptical while reading this, if the birthday is a blunder mistake then there might be other mistakes too which I might not be able to know. 🙈

5.0 out of 5 stars Delight for all Camus enthusiasts.
By Ari on 27 August 2018
Arrived in perfect condition. Gorgeous jacket photography cover with a beautiful color scheme. Not only a delight to read but also to look at on the shelf. Printing on clear white pages is worth the bucks, attached is a gold coloured lace bookmark. And overall, hardcover at this price for Camus is really a steal. Go for it, without hesitation.
