You don't have to be a monk to enter the ultimate realm of happiness!
Yes, it's true.
In his book Kundalini - An Untold Story, Himalayan ascetic Om Swami unveils the enigmatic story of kundalini, the formless aspect of the Goddess, or your primordial energy.
With workable steps for awakening this energy source, the author explains the esoteric and practical meaning of kundalini and the seven chakras in his usual insightful and humorous style. These riveting anecdotes are based on his personal experience gained from years of intense meditation.
Take an awe-inspiring journey -- something no other book on kundalini can offer - from the origins of kundalini all the way to Swami's own sadhana in the modern age.

An interesting and informative read about Kundalini.

First of all a big Thank You to Swamiji for writing such a informative book for all His readers! This book gives information about the very origin of Kundalini(which I am sure not many know), how and why is it in the current place (chakra) and how to awaken it in the most detail form. Also, when Swamiji mentions about His own experience He makes it more realistic and easy for us to understand.A must book for all those interested in knowing more about Kundalini and its awakening.Gratitude to Swamiji🙏Prachi Kolte

Till date, almost 57 years of age now, without a Guru, but feels like I have found NOW, though yet to meet him in person. This wisdom shared in Kundalini book is something no one would ever do share.
Each day, feels like a dear elder of our home, who wakes us up with caring warmth and gently reminds us to acknowledge our own inner Divine being.
2 years down the line just scrolling YouTube for some spiritual guidance I happened to hear Sri Om Swami Ji, and only one thought came to my mind , just listening and seeing his Tejas ( the bright Light on his face , his complete aura) that he is the living Buddha of our times.
I have always had no interest in reading the scriptures or delving too deep into the subject dealing with my learning and if at all I did, I would end up getting bored with the subject in all. With good 25 years of my being into healing as a therapist, having spend good 12 years in holy place like Rishikesh, travelled far and wide, meeting spiritual teachers and friends, nothing fascinated me. Many of them were so cocooned in their created world, would make a great deal on kundalini, half heartedly touch the subject and leave it unattended till some random next time, never a follow up, for all they cared and needed was followers by the end of the day, which was most uncomfortable for me as a being to get into. Sadhna can never ever be part of a cult or condition, and we as Sadhaks have to realise, that true knowledge, true wisdom never traps us. I have never felt this free, and easy after having read Sri Om Swamiji’s books on wisdom. He brings back life into the commonest and the highest of the souls. There is no hierarchy, to the sharing.
There is this deep down quest that our soul craves for, rituals, information is way too much out in this world , it weighs you down, so much so, one life would not be sufficient enough to imbibe it, but pure simple wisdom is difficult to find, which actually is our core. This book by Sri Om Swamiji is a boon for all the beginners and serious seekers on the path. Simplified to the core, A book of pure wisdom on the subject, where one could be spending thousands of rupees or dollars to attain this pure knowledge and insight, extracted from times eternal of great Seers and with Om Swamiji’s own inner experiences. This is not a book but an enlightened path to walk, in true effort with the guidance so well put up, by Swamiji. Feel blessed to be born in a country of Siddhas and Saints who shower their highest wisdom, so unconditional . My humble Pranaams and in gratitude to a Master of our times, Sri Om Swami Ji. Dhanya Ho Aap🙏🕉 and thank you from the bottom of my heart, for being their for Humanity in totality🙏🕉🌺Guru Krupa🕉🙏

First a caveat: The only true test of a book like this is to faithfully complete the meditation exercises and get real results oneself. Any other review of a book is incomplete and has the potential to mislead. For, how can a novice judge the efficacy of exercises given out by an expert unless he becomes a master himself?
I am not an expert but write this review with the hope that it may help a fellow seeker avoid many of the red herrings and dead ends that one encounters when treading the path of spirituality. There is a lot of "woo woo": warm and fuzzy, unnecessarily dense, vague or obscure, jargon heavy, esoteric sounding, hollow, feel-good, half-baked, ignorant or downright unscientific and misleading fluff doled out by so called "enlightened masters" to equally gullible masses who believe they are getting true information (I probably have been one myself for a long time). Fortunately, this is not such a book and I am extremely glad Om Swami wrote it.
This refreshing book is a clear signal in a world plagued by spiritual noise. Om Swami, writing from his direct, personal experience with extremely intense meditation practices, has distilled his findings into the most efficacious practices by cutting out all that is unnecessary. He has provided a brief history of Kundalini: its origin, literal and deeper practical meaning, how it has been passed down through the ages in a teacher-disciple succession and its immense potential for individual transformation. There are insightful stories where meaning is conveyed on multiple levels instead of just the literal one found in exoteric, ritual based religion. He also gives vivid accounts of his own experiences in the Himalayas and astounding results that he was able to achieve as a natural outcome of correct practice. There is a clear framework on what obstacles one will encounter (the three granthis), how to overcome them, how to locate the chakras for meditation and what results one can expect from doing the visualization and chanting meditation correctly for each chakra. There is a cause-effect, scientific approach that should be replicable (not easily though) if followed sincerely with the right intensity, quality and duration. All this is rarely documented in a complete, consistent, clear or accurate manner in scriptures or books on the subject.
I do think that with the help of a highly qualified teacher who can lay out a schedule for "deliberate practice" (as provided in the fantastic book " Peak: Secrets from the New Science of Expertise " by Anders Ericsson, the remarkable scientist whose research was the basis for the oft-misunderstood 10,000 hour rule), anyone can acquire world-class expertise in any skill, including meditation, of any type. Elements of such a deliberate practice are present in the book and I have no doubt that Om Swami is an extremely rare and competent master, having read his books, blog articles, seen videos and met him in person. If you are serious about the practice, I would also suggest supplementing the book with valuable information on meditation, hurdles, self-purification, additional practices on self-transformation provided freely by the author on his blog omswami.com as well as his Youtube channel since all of it cannot be condensed into a book and you'll benefit greatly from reading/hearing it. If you need feedback and direct guidance, Om Swami meets devotees at his ashram near Solan, Himachal Pradesh and also conducts meditation retreats. You can find more information on his website under the events section. To get to know the author's background, his meditation practice and current life, read his amazing autobiography, If Truth Be Told: A Monk's Memoir and Om Swami: As We Know Him , written by two exceptional devotees.
This is supposed to be an unbiased review with suggestions but as Om Swami says, you have to discover your own truth through direct experience in the end and not settle for anyone else's words. I do hope that there will be scientific studies and review of such practices one day but you don't have to wait that long to find out for yourself. Om Swami's direct experience and work is an invaluable service to serious practitioners by dispelling many myths about real spirituality. Get this book, follow the suggestions and you cannot go wrong.

I haven't finished this book yet - but I am loving it so far. It really describes what we need to do in terms of self-development in order to rise above. Om Swami explains very clearly what the "kundali" actually is and which "knots" need to be opened to be able to move towards the Divine Light. Beautiful!

This is a concise book on Kundalini. I haven't read any books about Kundalini before this one and don't feel I need to after reading it, as it contains enough information with practical knowledge that anyone can apply.
