My young son LOVES Legos. He LOVES Superheroes. He LOVES stories. This is the trifecta of fun for him.
The book is nicely designed with an intro and a glossary (with explanations of more complex words), and contains three standalone stories. What makes this book most appealing to me, however, is that it is kind of a "transition book" from those my child is used to reading -which are ones with mostly pictures and not as many words. This book is the opposite -with a lot more words than I expected, but with enough pictures to help shape the images in your head. (This makes it a lot more engaging as a "story" book, instead of, say, a "comic" book.)
This book requires your child to use a lot more imagination and will be a good style of book to take him or her to the next level of young adult books. And though it is intended to be read by a 1st to 3rd grader, my son is still in pre-school and greatly enjoys these stories being read to him.

BAD GUY BLIZZARD -- BRICK ADVENTURES
All of our grand babies are into both LEGOs and SUPER HEROS so they will LOVE this book! This cute little book is targeted for first, second, and third graders, but I know that our fifth grader will also read this. When it comes to fun, there are no age limits. This is also a rated for a reading level at grade two.
This book is funny. I love the illustrations! They are bold, bright, and detailed. There are plenty of pictures and much more of the written word than I expected. At the back of the book is a glossary which details characters and some of the 'bigger' words young kids may not be familiar with. The words that are in the glossary appear in bold dark print in the body of the stories. There are three new stories in this book.
What I like about these books is that they will hold young kids attention. The stories are exciting and fun for them and the illustrations are awesome. These books ENCOURAGE reading for those kids who are somewhat reluctant to pick up a book and read for the pure pleasure of reading. Making books fun, interesting, bright, and exciting will encourage kids to read and perhaps become book lovers down the road. You may also wish to read out loud to your kids or take turns reading aloud from this fun book.
What kid doesn't love LEGOs? Throw in adventures with BATMAN, SUPERMAN, THE FLASH, SUPERGIRL, BATGIRL, AQUAMAN, and the GREEN LANTERN [just to name a few] and you have nothing but fun reading ahead of you.
My 12 year old 7th grader is an avid reader. My 6 year old 1st grader is an advanced, but reluctant reader. They worked together to write this review: --- "Penguin at the Zoo? Captain Cold and Mr. Freeze teaming up? Joker running a.... school?! Batman needs some help! Joining him are Superman, Supergirl, Batgirl, Green Lantern, Flash and Aquaman in this hilarious LEGO Superheroes book! It is pretty easy to read and would be a good beginner chapter book. It has three stories, and great, colorful comic-book-style illustrations. I was glad that my favorite super-heroine, Supergirl, was in it a lot! We just got the book today, and my little brother has already read it three times! He collects the Lego Superheroes books and was really excited about this one! He loves the Flash best, but his favorite part was when Supergirl was "painted" to look like a clown. We recommend it to all young DC, LEGO, or any Superhero fans!"
My older son just finished second grade, and reading really clicked with him this past year. He started picking up books and reading on his own. Picture books don’t have enough of a story for him, but most chapter books don’t have enough pictures (or any pictures) for him. Traditional chapter books, even on his grade level, overwhelm him. This Lego Super Heroes Brick Adventures book is PERFECT for my son. There is plenty of story content, but the book has pictures on every page, so my son isn’t intimidated by it like he would be with a traditional chapter book. Plus, he loves Lego, and he loves super heroes. This book does a great job of continuing to foster my son’s growing love of reading.
Kids love super hero tales and even fantasize about them. That's why they are so popular. This 64-page colorful book with three adventures and a three-page glossary is just what they are looking for. The drawings make to people look like toys, eye-catching, fun to look at. We meet Batman in the three tales and Superman, The Flash, Supergirl, Batgirl, Aquaman, and Green Lantern. The first case is “The Penguin’s Zoo Takeover.” The second is “Mr. Freeze and Captain Cold Team Up.” The third is “The Joker’s Clown School.” All three are filled with adventure and fun. They will cause kids to laugh. They will want to read the tales more than once.
4.0 out of 5 starsBatman and a Few of his Friends.

This is a fun little LEGO DC superheroes book. The book has three stories, and all of them feature Batman. Batman calls in a variety of his friends from the Justice League to help him out in each of the three stories. The other heroes are mostly just window dressing—except for maybe Supergirl.
I'm only giving it four stars instead of five because in a couple of places the pictures don't line up with the text on the page very well. Like there might be a picture on one page, but you don't read about that part of the story until you've turned the page. It's a little confusing for kids in the couple of places that that happens. Even so, it's a cute book.
