4.0 out of 5 stars A Befitting Sequel
By Nakul mali on 1 April 2021
“Love is not always a lightning bolt. Sometimes it is a creeping vine. It grows slowly until suddenly it is all that there is in the world.”

Chain Of Iron
Chain of iron begins four months after the events of Chain of gold. Murders are happening on the streets of London and the murderer seems to be targeting shadowhunters alone. Amid the chaos of lost lives, Cordelia Carstairs is married to James Herondale- a false marriage to save Cordelia’s reputation.

Lucie Herondale is working with Grace Blackthorn to raise Jesse back from the dead. Jesse who saved James, Jesse for whom Lucie might have more than just friendly feelings.

Matthew Fairchild is still caught up between his hatred for himself and his addiction to alcohol. Thomas Lightwood and Alastair Carstairs have something going on, but neither of them are ready to admit it while Anna Lightwood and Ariadne Bridgestock are trying to save their relationship.

Cortana burns Cordelia’s hands when she touches it. Caught in between her longing for James, her desire to become a hero and mythical appearances, Cordelia must find the killer for it is the only way she can go to the depth depth of all this, and save the ones she loves.

Chain Of Iron takes all good things from Chain Of Gold and adds more thrill, adventure, darkness and magic to it. The characters have gone through a lot of development. And the romance- stunning, frustrating and angsty at the same time!

Every character stands out, everyone has a voice and everyone is so well written. This is honestly The best shadowhunter generation ever.

With so many books already set in the world, we don’t get to see something New-New, but reading shadowhunters is always going to be a home-like feeling for me. Despite the same world building and repetitive tropes, there is always a unique perspective in the books and no character is the same as the other.

It was a befitting sequel to Chain of gold, just added more to the anticipation of where all this is going and how will all this end.

If you are a person who loves shadowhunters, the book will blow your mind (and you know why this book is special)

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome buy!! (NO SPOILERS)
By Siddhi Pandit on 21 March 2021
Preordered this one and it arrived on the day specified in recyclable packing. Great print. Include BONUS CHAPTER at end featuring Jem and Magnus!!! It also has black silhouette character art scattered through the book.
Beautiful cover!
The only damage I could see was slight ink patches on a page.
(Note: the plastic book cover in the pictures was done by me after i bought it. No cover is supplied. )

5.0 out of 5 stars Second instalment of The Last Hour Shadowhunters ❤❤❤❤
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 March 2021
Queen of Fantasy... is correct ❤ Finally the second installment of the The last hours has arrived!!!! Only been waiting almost a year for this!

Beautiful display and the 10 artwork pages are STUNNING❤❤❤❤ I was hoping for the coloured character page as seen in the first, BUT I think the other art work speaks for its self.

My absloute favourite series from Cassandra Clare is Infernal Devices as they are what drew me to Clare's work in the first place and The Last Hours have only added to that love ❤

I will now have to Re-read Chain of Gold and then start on Chain of Iron!

I absolutely loved the second installment of the last hours series. I finished the book so quickly I was left wanting more. As with all of Cassandra Clare's books I was thoroughly immersed in all the characters. This book made me fall in love with the world of the Shadowhunters all over again. The depth and diversity of the characters is extremely refreshing. Cassandra is a genius. I cannot wait for the next installment of this series.

1.0 out of 5 stars Amazing story - poor quality cover
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 March 2021
The story as with all Cassandra Claire's work is amazing so 5 stars for that. However this being a collectors first edition (like the chain of gold I ordered before) I am extremely disappointed with a vast amount of the metallic overlay on the front cover had come off while reading? Have read the first book (Chain of Gold) twice now and the cover is still pristine so maybe it is a manufacturing issue but sadly it have ruined the cover of the book - half of which now look blurry!
