A journey of a girl who is not just defined by the money she has or can have.. she is independent. Gets loved, cheated on and then stands again and falls in love again

Most of the romantic books I have read have the leads already met or else the first few pages are all about building up the tempo for the said meet. Then there's mindless romance, followed by some mishap or misunderstanding etc and then reconciliation. Thankfully, this story was so so different. N I absolutely love the author for that. I didn't like Sophie initially but loved her by the end of the book- a very realistic character.

When Sophie fell in love with James and got married, she bent over backwards, giving up her job and her city life, to move to the countryside and work alongside him on his property. But apparently, this wasn’t enough for James – she found him cheating on him. When he apologized, she agreed to give her marriage a second chance, if they met with a counselor. But unfortunately, he couldn’t keep his end of the bargain! What’s more, her mother-in-law berated Sophie and let slip that James had only married her for her father’s money. Sophie finally leaves and with the support of her parents, starts rebuilding her life again.

Sophie has the courage and the self-respect to walk out. While the support of her parents and the fact that she could walk back into her old job cannot be discounted, she actually took a stand for herself and her future.

Sophie gradually begins to make friends with the people in her building, including the mysterious Elliot. Will she find love again?

Told in the first person, the story is told with humour and doesn’t drag at all.

I enjoyed reading this story of how it’s possible to build your life again even from pain and heartbreak.

Fab read. Plenty of laughs and a few moments that made me cringe as I can totally.

Took a star off because it ends very abruptly. Especially on a kindle as book says 95 percent but the other 5 percent is a preview. So it feels like the end of a chapter but you turn the page and there's no more book.

OK, this little work is not a huge literary award winner for the New York Times or whatever, but it is a beautifully thought out well structured piece. The characters are honestly depicted, if a little caricatured by class stereotypes but serve the plot superbly. This is not supposed to be thought provoking revolutionary material or serious social satire, it was written to entertain. This it truly does! It set out with a purpose and handsomely achieves it
As a jaded 80+year old I read for fun and this provided it in "why did you just interrupt me" attention seeking fashion. I have now read all I can find of this author and love her comedy offerings. Can't wait for the next one - please?

I really hate to put negative reviews for new authors but I need to be honest. I loved this book I thought the characters were building up nicely and then it just ended! It was as if the author just couldn't be bothered anymore. I'm hoping this is just book 1 of a series. The content was humorous and enjoyable. I've really struggled to get into books lately but this one drew me in, which is why I was so disappointed when it ended. I'm not actually sure what the overall story line was. I'm so sorry for my 3 star review. I feel the book had lots of potential and would happily purchase the next one, if it was a continuation of the story and much more in depth x goodluck with your writing going forward.
