This is the best book.
This was the first time I read a book by Brigid Kemmerer and God I can't help but be glad that I picked it up and read it without pause.
It deserves to be read, it deserves to be loved, it deserves to be known.
This book is everything you expect to feel, expect to experience, when you think that books no longer connect because damn Letters to the Lost is bundled up with so many emotions in limited pages (Yes, I needed more than 400 pages) of two characters entwined by a beautiful story that deals with a lot of stuff and does not settle with romance as a downpour Crux for the entirety of the novel.
The writing, the characters, the build up, everything about it screams gold and you just cannot be let down by it.
I love, love, love everything about it.

Book Title: Letter To The Lost
Author: Brigid Kemmerer
Format: Paperback
Book Title: The book title is absolutely appropriate to the story.
Book Cover: The cover is absolutely adorable and one of the reasons I picked the book.
My review:
The story explores the relationship between two people who hate each other but unlikely circumstance actually brings them together. The spice add to this is that both of them don't know they're actually helping each other overcome the grief and guilt they're suffering from and this forms the most unlikely bond between the two. But when identity uncovers, will they still help each other or will it tear them apart?
The storyline is so well written and it has such an amazing flow that by the time I was done with the story, I was stunned and felt absolutely lost but at the same time found! It was such a magical feeling. There's so much grief and anger pouring out of the characters onto the pages! And there were characters like Alan and Declan's mom who I absolutely despised in the beginning but by the end of the story, the author made me sympathize them!
The concept of misplaced g*ilt and miscommunication as well as no communication was beautifully portrayed. I was also in awe of the friendship between Rev and Declan and how they fit each other like a missing puzzle. What I got was a book about la*els, jud*ement, g*ief, love, acceptance, friendship and moving on.
Overall, I'd definitely urge you to read the book at least once in your life because you definitely don't want to miss this masterpiece!

I fell in love with this book. I started it to get a break from studying and I couldn’t put it down. It’s so beautifully written, the strength in every word, every line shifts something in the reader. It’s painful and heartbreaking but also healing. Both characters have a lot of pain inside. Buried. And they find ways to heal together. To make their own path.

How many times in our live - we never value people around us , but always keep on lingering to thoughts of the gone one... and in our own mind ,we make it more magical , special & mystical... but the story meets the reality, and than memories fade in, to give space to new memories. But when the words are woven , when you can feel the pain , hopelessness of the protagonist , that make the wonderful story.

Everyone gets a second chance.
Declan and Juliet were no exception. This is the undeniably one of the best love stories that I have evser read.
This covers issues that almost every teen faces. I have never read a more tense, relief, and suspense love story I have ever read.
This book should not be ignored by any teen.

I liked the writing. At some point I started to wonder whether I became too mature to stop reading teenage love stories anymore . Some of her comparisons are really beautiful.

I am in my thirties and I have read several young adults books lately, maybe to catch up on subjects that didn't use to be written about in books when i was a teen myself.
I find this one particularly beautiful, the characters are believable and I love the way their feelings and thoughts are described; simply but with accurate words. This is a book about judging persons too hastily, about fierce friendship, not letting our past define us, and about the power of written communication. Delicate and emphatic - I definitely recommend it.
(Last but not least: the cover is beautiful! It reflects the spirit of the book).

Beautiful and addictive

I have to thank my lucky stars at times that I do take notice when I have been recommended a book to read. After devouring Letters to the Lost, I am now thanking a galaxy of stars because I found this to be such a beautiful and addictive read. I’m sitting here trying to put my thoughts and feelings into words and I’m struggling because I don’t think I can write the review that this book deserves.
I absolutely love the way that the author has penned this story. Her writing style is incredible. The intensity is perfect. I connected with the characters instantly, which allowed me to experience the emotions that they were feeling. My heart hurt so much for Juliet and Declan at times. Their relationship is one that I absolutely adore which of course then made me fear that something, at some point in their story, was going to ruin who they are to each other.
Juliet and Declan’s story is a must read. It is a story about loss and grief, love, expectations, guilt, despair and hope - let’s not forget the hope in all of this. I was so absorbed in the story that I didn’t realise that I was crying until my tears reached the book I was holding. I found Brigid Kemmerer’s words to be so very powerful, her messages touching and thought-provoking, and to be honest this story was so much more than I expected.
I’m a huge fan of epilogues and I was initially disappointed that Letters to the Lost ended without one. Now, having had time to reflect, I actually am grateful to be able to make my own decisions on what happens next for Juliet and Declan…. I want only good things for them both from now on! This book is one that I recommend to everyone to read. I know that this story will stay with me for a long time and I’m certain you will feel the same way too.

How weird is it for me to say I accidentally started reading this book but just didn't stop when I started? Don't get me wrong, I had every intention of reading it because it sounded amazing (full disclosure: it really is amazing), but when it arrived in the post this morning, I read the first page (I do it with all of my paperbacks because that's how I roll) and suddenly found myself 100 pages in some time later and thinking "well, no point stopping now." It's now three in the morning and I've just finished the book, much to my dismay. It's been a long time since I've been THAT enthralled with a book and it's characters. This book reeled me in from the very first page and still hasn't let me go, even though the last page has been read. I was thoroughly engrossed and couldn't year myself away from the pages for very long. The characters were beautiful. They had depth, they had demons they fought every day, they were flawed and perfect. The growth they both go through is admirable and was a treasure to read. I found myself relating a lot to both Jules and Declan, the emotions and feelings they sometimes conveyed have been a huge element in my life, so connecting to these characters was an easy thing for me. Through that, I grew very attached. I didn't want the book to end, I wanted more from Cemetery Girl and The Dark. The story was compelling and captivating, and I honestly felt like I was on the same journey as them as I read the book. Beautifully written, flowed flawlessly. It would be a crime to give this book any less than five stars!

[4.5] Beautiful! Just beautiful! I love that it is not a love-story. There's so much more to it. It's so much deeper.
It speaks about grief, coming to term with your losses, judgement and assumption based on very limited knowledge and self-acceptance. It wasn't cheesy, neither was anything romanticised. But it dealt with these themes in a very mature and realistic way and it was just a stunning read, enveloping my heart.

I'm a fan of YA novels but i do find they tend to be very hit and miss. This one not only gets it right, its one of the best I've ever read. A book this good deserves 5 stars and for any YA fans this one is a must read. Trust me you won't regret it. I'm just hoping I don't have to wait too long for Rev's book.
