4.0 out of 5 stars One of the best collections from the author and the illustrator?💯✨
By Reading_Tam_Ishly on 7 October 2020
💓 It felt like I was reading a fun Bible.

Yas, the cover could have been much better.

Yass, the stories could have been a little longer.

Yasssss, the writing isn't for 8 years and above because it's like a children's story collection book. Like fairytales abridged for below this age group. Literally speaking and literally in comparison to her other books.

And wow those paintings like illustrations!!!! For each story! At the beginning of each story. I mean that's out of this world. Thank you, Daniel J. Zollinger. Love the book much, much more because of the illustrations! I would get this book because of this!

Strange but true I didn't like the first book of the Grishaverse trilogy and haven't read the last two books but this strange short stories turned out to be quite fun and enjoyable.

28 shorts. Well, too short for short stories I say.

However, most of the stories ended as soon as they started. It's like I didn't have time to breath out just after I breathe in. But I am still happy that I liked another Leigh Bardugo book. Well, so fast paced considering that the stories are named after the Sankts and Sanktas (the saints of the Grishaverse world) and they told about these characters.

The writing do not have much to tell about the characters or the plot or the world they were living in.

The stories describe this character is there, that happened to them and then bleep! Run to the next story! Run!!!

There are kings and magic and captains and magical beings and witches and what not!

Well, if you happen to read this collection like a short story collection for kids like I did (it's meant for the kids I repeat) you would enjoy it.

And it would be highly disappointing for you if you pick it up thinking about details and plots and crazy endings. No, it doesn't happen in any of the 28 stories.

Well, I would recommend this collection for Leigh Bardugo beginners. Like make the kids get familiar with her writing from this one.

She's best at writing the beginnings of her stories. And I am glad each of this story felt like they were just starting and that's where her writing shines the best.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful and Mind Blowing : Dive into the lives of saints of Grishaverse.✨
By Aman Sharma on 18 May 2021
The beautifully illustrated replica of "The Lives Of Saints", the Istorii Sankt'ya is a collection of stories of Sankt and Sankta of Grishaverse, What's their story of how their names were written in golden words of Grisha History.
.
I haven't read or watched Shadow And Bone, but I was interested in Grishaverse that's why I started collecting Grishaverse Books (I own SoC Duology as of now). But I wanted to started Grishaverse and got to know about this novella, so here we are reading an enjoying Leigh Bardugo.🙆🏻‍♂️
.
As a person who haven't read Shadow And Bone yet, I loved this novella, I expect it to relate to the mang characters of the Main Series and I'm going to revisit at times when I will read Shadow and Bone or Six of Crows. The illustrations were spectacular, the color palette for each illustration and the beauty of how the Picture was portraying the story, it's mind blowing. One could do see the story through them.
.
And reading it reminded me of times when I ised to read illustrated children books in my younger years, and it was an euphoric feeling.
