Best mouse you can possibly buy at this price point. It is light weight, comfortable to hold ( both with claw and palm grip) and it just a different experience all together. Bought it for playing fornite, six siege and pubg, and I feel like my game has improved.
*My review is based on my editing, gaming and casual use of this mouse, and the gaming that I do with this mouse is in CS:GO. I use an XBOX One controller for all the other games. So my review for the "gaming" aspect of this mouse is based on my CS:GO experience only.*
Although, you won't ever probably need the highly advertised and hyped "Fusion Core Acceleration" feature (for which this mouse is popular), this mouse is absolutely amazing.
Weight & Ergonomics: The weight is perfect. Not too heavy, not too light, and is very well-balanced. The design is very comfortable and even though I have big hands, this mouse accommodates it very well and I don't experience any fatigue or discomfort ever.
Customization Software: The customizing software that it comes with is just the best, way way better than even those of Razer, Mad Catz, etc.. It has tons of dedicated application related setting profiles, macros, ability to use scripts, and the mapping ability is very vast.
Gaming: The minute you set your sensitivity to what you find optimal, you'll find that your shots and flicks will be more accurate than they have ever been before, the sensor on this thing is an absolute beast. I couldn't believe how well I was landing shots after this product and how much of a difference a mouse can actually make on gaming performance.
Clicks: The clicks are very... "clicky". They seem solid, durable, and I'm sure will last very long.
Other Buttons: The other buttons are well-placed and have good tactile feedback (okay, this was the word I was looking for when I - wrote "clicky"). All of them are map-able in a vast array of customization options in the software that comes with the mouse.
Wheel: The wheel's click is slightly hard, but that's a good thing. The scroll steps are smooth/quiet but also properly distinctive. However, I found that the wheel's spin is a little loose compared to other mice, but it eventually became a good thing for me. It's as if, if I want to scroll just 1-2 steps, it is strict and tight enough and the stepping is very distinctive but when I want to scroll fast (like for scrolling through a web page), it becomes loose in comparison. That's a new thing for me and it's pretty good, you'll have to try it to comprehend what I'm talking about.
Sensor & Lights: The sensor is absolute perfection. Very accurate and perfectly tuned. The lights can be customized up to the extent of the brightness of the Logitech logo and the breathing rate of the light. Apart from that, there are 3 separate lights for the DPI levels or profiles at the side of the mouse. I like them all being on all the time, so I have disabled profiling and keep all the lights on regardless of the DPI switch buttons being pressed (as they are mapped to other things).
Cable: The ONLY negative about this mouse is that its cable is not braided. Other than that, this is THE best gaming mouse you can get for this price or even anything near 4,500Rps..
And yes, I know, 90% Indian gamers are using this, but it's okay, they're using it for a reason, and that is how good this mouse is. Get it. Now.
UPDATE v1.0: It has been 1 year now since I have had this mouse, and everything is exactly the same as day one. Beast.
UPDATE v2.0: It had been 1 year and 2 months when I started to face some issues with the left-click double-clicking on single clicks (probably due to wear), and this comes with 2 years' warranty. Let me tell you something, Logitech's customer service is just one of the best I have come across in India. Prompt e-mail responses, replacements, and very professional and kind customer care / service center representatives. I was worried they might have issues since this is an Amazon product, but all they needed was the Amazon invoice and that was it. I got a replacement (brand new) and it is amazing!
The Logitech G402 Hyperion Fury FPS Gaming Mouse has proved to be a reliable tool in my gaming arsenal. I'm curious to see how long this device will last, thought the build quality seems solid enough and the texturing around the grip and surface is very comfortable. The extra buttons are reachable and tactile but not excessive, the scrollwheel is comfortable to use, and the on-the-fly dpi shifts and programmable macros is a nice touch. The mouse also—of course—is excellent for casual internet browsing sessions or getting any work done on a computer or laptop. My only complaint is that it a wired mouse, however the cord is plenty long (I've actually placed cable ties on it to shorten it) however is not braided.
Games Mainly Played: Counter Strike: Global Offensive,PUBG,Fortnite
Update 08/09/2018: The sensor on this mouse has begun to skip on several different surfaces and after multiple attempts to calibrate it in software. Another aspect that has started bothering me about the mouse is that there lacks support for my ring and pinky fingers eventually leading to them cramping over long periods of use. This didn't happen in the first few months of using the mouse, so it would appear that this is a growing pain and in my opinion really hurts the ergonomics of the device. It's important to note however, that I palm my mice. If your mouse posture is to claw, then you may find this better suited for you.
this is my 2nd time buying a G402, i purchased a new one because my old G402 was wonderfully and i loved it every bit, but after a year it started to not function, the RIGHT click not functioning properly and the middle mouse button not working, i thought then that the device only comes with a one year warranty hence i ignored it and bought a new one, the thing with the new one is that i purchased the new one in june 2018 and in feb 2019 the scrollwheel stopped working, since then, ive been going back an forth from amazon and Logitech to get the device replaced as device comes with 2 year warranty, but no is willing to help. would not recommend the G402 at all, to anyone looking to purchase it, rather i would recommend you to spend the extra money and get the G502 Hero.
Reviewing this after a year of daily use. Used G90 before this.
Starting with the ergonomics, the Logitech G402 does look attractive with all those curves, also making it very easy to hold on. The weight is just right (not customizable) and the wire doesn't add much inconvenience while using. Very rigid USB connector.
The left and right click are very tactile. They are tuned to trigger with different pressures - left click, requires a tad bit more pressure with your index finger and the right click, requires lesser pressure. This tuning just makes it perfect to use. There were no accidental clicks 95% of the time. There 5 other buttons on the mouse - 2 just beside the primary left click which are used for DPI switching, 1 on the top-left for shifting and finally 2 more for front and back operations by default though these can be programmable per game basis in the Logitech Gaming software. The mouse wheel is smooth enough to scroll effortlessly and has a satisfying click.
The DPI ranges from 250 to 4000. There is an illuminated 3-level DPI indicator. The DPI switching, shifting and defaults can be customized in the Logitech Gaming software. I have used this mouse on a low friction Logitech G440 hard-type mousepad and a Logitech G240 cloth-type mousepad. If you're buying this mouse or already own it, take my advice and go for G240. The G440 will damage the feet on the mouse anf they aren't cheap to replace. But, I must admit that the mouse trackd excellently on both mousepads thanks to the awesome delta-zero sensor. No sensor-rattle or tracking issues at all even at 4000 DPI. Personally, my use couldn't go beyond 150 IPS from the advertised 500 IPS.
There illuminated G logo can customized in the Logitech Gaming software but unfortunately it is only blue color. It can be set to constant or breathing effect with variable speeds. The brightness of this lighting can be changed but I must say that, when it is at it's full brightness constantly, it can br distracting sometimes.
Coming to why I gave 4 star rating: it is because of the materials Logitech has chosen for this product. This mouse will get dirty and ugly within 6 months of use, take my word fpr it. The left side is a matte finish and this will pick up a lot of dirt, scuffs and scratches. Also, I've noticed that my mouse feet got damaged at the edges after 9 months of usage or so. The last two pictures that I've attached are after 1 year of usage, for reference.
Great design, great grip, perfect sensor, tactile buttons, average matte finish. Overall, a great mouse if you can't afford the G502.
Left button doesn't work properly anymore since last month, so hold and select doesn't work. Basically means that multiple item selection becomes extremely unlikely. Also prone to double clicks. Wheel went off this week so scrolls with a noise and is not smooth either. Initially my only disappointment was the cable but its usability has become so poor that I had to replace it with my Logitech wireless mouse it was supposed to replace. Extremely poor product and should be avoided.
Hey guys am writing this review now after using this mouse for around 3 months now.
As a mouse buyer i can clearly understand that which mouse is good and not,So after using this for so many days i really felt that this is an amazing mouse for those people who have medium range palm and especially beneficial for those who use palm grips which helps alot.
Keys: Every single key on the mouse feels really clicky and no need of putting pressure on them except the scrollwheel button which is also easy to press but just need a little more pressure than any other.
Software: The software is preety easy to use and it just work like any other brand's software, so no worries that how to.
Looks: The looks on this mouse is really simple and cool but not conjusted type and that's what most of the gamer want's there mouse to be.
Love the mouse overall. Sensitivity, button quality (except the middle click on the scrollwheel) is very good. The middle click button doesn't work at times, I would need to press it harder for the click to register. One way to over come that is to clean it. Using the blow feature from a vacuum cleaner near the scrollwheel would help it temporarily. Would've given 5 stars if it wasn't for the middle click issue.
I m using this mouse for the past 6 months and trust me this mouse is really good. 1. easy to shift dpi up and down (with a single click) 2. easy to grab and fit my hands perfectly 3. scrollwheel is really good (which in my last mouse which I was using earlier is worst) I am totally satisfied with its performance and mouse itself. #MUST BUY!! In this price range its a really good serving mouse than others.
A good mouse for gaming but even with medium to big sized hands like mine, the mouse feels bulky and is not at all suitable for claw users. The clicks feel even and the scrollwheel gives a good feedback.
An overall good mouse for gaming but not suitable for small hand sized people.
