What inspired me to write the review for this cute lovely book for which so many readers have already shared their thoughts?
Answers : Me and my child have became Oliver Jeffers fan b'cuz of this book. A simple story talks about love, care, compassion, friendship. Sadness, lonelyness, confusion all get replaced from the lives of the boy and the penguin at the end of book.
The pictures of the books are so expressive.
My little one holds his penguin soft toy in his arm every time while we read the book. I highly recommend this book to parents.

But when they get there, the boy discovers that maybe home wasn't what the penguin was looking for after all…

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

Aah what do I say about the author... such simple words. I didn’t have to explain my 5 year old in my native language. She could understand every word. The pictures are so colourful so thoughtfully articulated. Loved every bit of it.If you don’t have Oliver Jeffer’s books in your child’s library then you are really missing out on something really great.

Love all three books in this series. This one is so sweet. About a penguin who starts following the boy, who thinks it's lost. So he takes the penguin back to the south pole. But he realizes the penguin is not lost, just lonely. Great for introducing the concept of friendship to kids.
Illustrations are simple and beautiful. One or two lines per page. Easy for 2.5 ye old to concentrate on a single scene. The words used are perfect as they are what she has been learning nowadays. So helps reinforce her learning.

The Boy finds a penguin at his door one day and doesn’t know what to do. He thinks that the penguin is lost, but is he?
WHAT WE LIKED
The Boy’s helpful personality, although peculiar, is full of warmth and welcome, and that is what children should be exposed to.
The concept of loneliness is handled so beautifully, it took me a couple of readings before I could appreciate it myself.
Full paged illustrations. Never fails to grab the attention of a scampering toddler.
Dealing with feelings. Realization, acceptance, and action.
WHAT WE DISLIKED like all of OJ books, this one too has some things that can’t be termed logical from an adult point of view. But then for a child, anything is possible and okay.
Recommended! Published by Harper Collins Children’s Books. Recommended age 2-2.5+ years.

Lost and Found by Oliver Jeffers was T’s second book by the author. I introduced it only when I was sure she has got used to The Boy and his ways from the previous book (he is a little different you see) She took to this book after a while, only when she understood the story well after repeated readings. It has now become a classic and she asks for it lesser each day, though it has been a hit.

Received without bends at the corners
Though paperback it has outer cover which is little thick sheet
Am sure everybody knows about this cute story of frienship
Lovely pictures but since we saw the lost and found film first and got the book later it was not on the favorite list as the movie was beautifully recreated.
Among the authors' books next to Here we are this is the second best .

My child used to be addicted to screen.. Yesterday when the book came, he was ready for it. Made me read it to him thrice in two days. The illustrations are very catchy for children; it takes them to an imaginative world. As pointed out by many buyers here, the story subtly tells the idea of friendship/ companionship.

This is my first Oliver Jeffers book for my daughter. She loved it and asked me the concept of being "lonely". The pictures are awesome too. I am looking forward to buying more books from the same author.

Lost and Found is about a penguin ending up on a boy's doorstep. the boy thinks that he is lost.
He thinks someone might be missing a penguin so he checks the lost and found office. No one was missing a penguin so they got out the boy's boat and set off for sea. The boy told the penguin stories. They travelled through good weather and bad weather. Soon they arrived at the South Pole.
Will they be happy there?
I would recommend this book to Year 6 because they'll probably enjoy it. I enjoyed reading this book which is why I gave it 5 stars. My favourite bit was when the penguin and the boy became great friends. I bet you'll really enjoy it.

Simple, but enjoyable story for youngsters

This is a simple story, with minimalist illustrations. I read it to 7 to 10 year olds and they enjoyed listening to it. Perhaps it would not be as exciting for a child to read, but my pupils are Austrian, and can manage to understand an easy text. The adult reader can always try to instill more excitement and drama into any story, to which little ones would respond. I have just watched the corresponding DVD, and this enhances the story. Visual images are always effective. I look forward to seeing the response by the same pupils.

I would rate this as a three and a half star, but since there isn't such a rating available, I gave it the benefit of a 4. It's a nice story and the individual pictures are fine but not fantastic. The book is over rated, but it may fare better as an animated as a children's movie.

Cute

A sweet book about friendship. The illustrations are lovely and colourful. The actual story itself is fine, not amazing but sweet. There wasn't really any mention about the penguin not being sad while the boy told him stories on the boat, so saying that the penguin was sad again wasn't quite as effective, a page about the penguin being happy would have made a big difference. But still a nice read.

Beautifully Produced Book

I have bought several of these books by the same author as a Christmas gift this year. I was very impressed with the strong sturdy cover and pages, which were a very high quality as were the illustrations and most importantly the story. Given the high cost of books this is inexpensive for the quality.
