About Louise Greig
Louise Greig lives in Aberdeen, Scotland where her main interests are gardening, photography and writing poetry and childrens' picture books. She was also a founder director of a dog rescue and rehoming organisation and has a deep affinity with animals and nature.
She has won several writing competitions including the inaugural Manchester Writing for Children Competition (MMU 2014), the Caterpillar Poetry Prize (2015), the Wigtown Poetry Competition (2015), the McLellan Poetry Prize (2017), the Battered Moons Poetry Prize (2017) and the Caterpillar Story Prize (2018). She was also a runner-up in The Big Idea Competition (Chicken House) in 2014 & 2018.
Her first childrens' picture book, The Night Box, (pub. Egmont 2017) has been translated into 10 languages and was short-listed for the Waterstones Children's Book Prize, the Teach Primary Book Awards and the Klaus Flugge Prize. It was also awarded a Kirkus star in the US and its translation, La Nuit et la Petit Garçon, is La Cultura book of the year in France.
Two of her books, The Night Box and Sweep, have been nominated for the Kate Greenaway Medal.
