The book, as with other Kapoor brothers books, is funny. You are chuckling at the dialogues and the incidents. The pièce de résistance was the group WhatsApp conversation, it had me howling with laughter. Alisha-Vivaan, Suraj-Vihaana, make up the emotional backbone of Arav. The interactions between the Kapoor brothers and their better halves are funny, full of love, camaraderie and affection. This time Arav and Vivaan's mother makes a cameo and keeps the reader in splits! She reminded me of sassy sassuma ( of messy mama and sassy sassuma fame)!
Author Shilpa Suraj has a magic touch when it comes to romances. She picks flawed characters, struggling with their issues and insecurities. With these characters, she spins a story which is funny, romantic and heartwarming. Her characters are endearingly familiar, you sympathize with them, commiserate with them, feel their pain and root for them. The characters do have rocks on the path of true love, but there are no unnecessary dramas to distract the reader from the main story.
Shilpa Suraj makes you believe in love and happily ever afters.
But Shilpa managed to surprise me yet again with the depth that she has given to the lead characters in 'Love, Scandal and Second Chances' - Aarav and Disha. While she has had an abusive past that she dreads & struggles to break free from, he has always been comparing himself, in his head, to his apparently better looking & more successful brothers. How they manage to break the shackles of the past, come to terms with the present & plan a beautiful future for themselves is beautifully conveyed by Shilpa in this one.
The best part of the story, in my opinion, is that Disha needs no hand-holding. She is absolutely clear in her head as to what she has to do, has worked her way towards her goal & takes things in her own hands in more ways than one to dream of a life that she can live the way she wants. Sure, Aarav is a part of it, but more of a supporting role. He is not a knight in shining armor, but a strong supporter of her dream - one that he helps her achieve in his own capacity.
Also, in this day & age of dying relationships & familial values & the need to protect privacy, it's nice to see the connection between the different members of the Kapoor family & how they strongly stand up for each other, sometimes even placing relationships made from the heart above those of the so-called 'blood', mandatory ones. Quite a few scenes made me tear up completely, so just a quick word of advice to keep a handkerchief handy when you read this book. The scene between Aarav's mother & Disha, in particular, is beautifully written & you wish more women in the world were blessed with Mrs.Kapoor's wisdom!
All in all, a beautiful read.
I'm sad to see this series end, but excited at what Shilpa has planned ahead. If it's anything like the one with suave, sexy Kapoor brothers, I already know I am going to adore it!
The characters are well-developed, realistic and relatable as was with the other books in the series. We had met Disha in the second book and I had an inkling that Arav liked her. I loved the mature conversations between Arav and Disha and the easy camaraderie between the cousins. I would have enjoyed reading more conversations in the cousins’ WhatsApp group. The presence of characters from the previous books helps maintain the continuity in the series. I felt that I was right there sitting in the Kapoor house and witnessing everything unfold before me.
I enjoyed reading the book and finished it in one sitting until three in the morning. I am really going to miss the Kapoors now that the series is over.
Waiting to read more books from the author.

Arav was a beautiful calm, cool and collected man and, besides being extremely patient with Disha, he showed a very deep and unconditional love towards her. And the sceene of Dog's bath was priceless.
A great ending to the Kapoor brothers series and another gripping book by the author that will no doubt be a hot seller.
