About the authors
Joanna Gaines is the co-owner and co-founder of Magnolia, a New York Times bestselling author, Editor in Chief of Magnolia Journal, and co-creator of Magnolia Network.
Born in Kansas and raised in the Lone Star State, Jo graduated from Baylor University with a degree in Communications. It was an internship in New York City that prompted her desire to discover how she could create beauty for people in their homes. In a big city unknown to her, Jo always felt most at home whenever she stepped inside the cozy and thoughtfully curated boutique shops, which inspired her to open a shop of her own in Waco, Texas.
Alongside her passion for design and food, nothing inspires Jo more than time spent at home with Chip and their five kids.
Mark Dagostino is a multiple New York Times Bestselling co-author, and a former Senior Writer at People Magazine.

Chip Gaines is the co-owner and co-founder of Magnolia and a New York Times bestselling author of The Magnolia Story, Capital Gaines: Smart Things I Learned Doing Stupid Stuff, and No Pain, No Gaines. He is constantly reinventing the wheel on what we can achieve together and is always eager to give back to individuals and communities.
Born in Albuquerque and raised in Dallas, Chip later graduated from Baylor University’s Hankamer School of Business with a marketing degree. An entrepreneur by nature, Chip has started a number of small businesses and has remodeled hundreds of homes in the Waco area.
But more than any good adventure or hard-working demo day, Chip loves an early morning on the farm and a slow day spent with Jo and their five kids.

This confirms that the couple we see on screen is the same as reality. This is a straightforward book to read. You feel like you want to be friends with them and be involved with their lives and family.
Reading through this feels like curling up with a snuggling, cosy blanket and a good hot chocolate. It’s well written in a conversational tone, making it like being told a story by friends. This is sometimes funny, sometimes sad, but consistently remarkable, genuine and inspiring.

It’s conversational style is very easy to take in. Yet the content is a real page-turner.
You get the same feel-good fuzzies as watching their television show.
Well worth the money, because I will certainly be reading this one, over and over again.
