Product description

Review

The story surprised me with something intriguing each time and it goes on till the end page. A very good book and I recommend you all to read it once because sometimes all you need is to have an eye of a person through which you can see a different world, a different Mahabharata. Watch out for the second part of this series. --Team WordBite Oct 20, 2014

The book is an average read. In the same mould as Ashwin Sanghi's The Krishna Key, which I think is still the best in its genre. The basic story idea is good as is the plot. The author begins well, but midway loses control of the plot and the ending is a damp squib. But what salvages the book is the fact that the English is at least good and the author has taken care to see that the characters have some depth. I would still rate Navin's "The Tenth Unknown" a better book when compared to the Mahabharata secret. A little more care in crafting the plot and improving the climax would have helped make it better. On the whole, a not so bad read after all, especially if you are travelling or need to while away your time. But be warned, this book is strictly a one time read only... --Santosh Mohan Rao K Dec 10, 2013

Just completed reading the novel. Definitely should appreciate the work by Doyle, really a great debut novel. But if you forget its a debut novel and write a review, then i think i can give it a 3 star. Reason, is i felt the pace getting slow down many a times because of lot of breakages while starting a conversation and after ending a conversation; even sometimes, conversation seemed sloppy; while solving the clues, the people seemed solving easily rather than with hard thinking, atleast the conversation in the novel seemed like that; i can give example, but i dont want to reveal a part of story, so keeping in general words. Even the very end didnt seem very excited. I felt many a times to compare the story with Dan Brown's novels, even the end tempted me to compare with Da Vinci Code, if compared, definitely Dan Brown is way way way ahead. But overall, i am giving it a four star as it is a debut novel and wonderful research has been done and clues and puzzles were keep coming till very end. Good luck Doyle, will definitely read your second book --Avinash K R Dec 23, 2013 --This text refers to an alternate kindle_edition edition.

5.0 out of 5 stars A GREAT BOOK !! PLEASE DO READ
By Abihail Venra on 24 July 2018
This is a great book. I am basically interested in Mahabharata technology. I always believed them they were true. This book is extraordinary. My interest in this book as I was reading kept on increasing. A good research is made and that is well shown in the book. The language is good. I am not a regular reader. I normally read romantics because they are simple in understanding but this book really changed my thinking, my thought now is what, do I want to return to romantic. When I read this book it really made me grow up interest in researching on them.
A GREAT BOOK !! PLEASE DO READ

2.0 out of 5 stars Not a gripping one
By AmazonCustomer on 18 February 2021
Ok so the book is bought by me after 8yrs from its first publishing. Which means I read this one after reading Dan Brown, Ashwin Sanghi and Amish. The plot is quite a mythological thriller, the subject of my interest, however the book tries too hard to make the impact. The facts comes nicely strewn in the story for the first few pages, also the cat and mouse chase part initially kept me hooked. Later on the chase becomes so repeatitive and disinteresting, I just turned off the pages, scanning them to come to the crux of every scene, read few again, then scan again. The reason for this is the characters are so loosely described that made me loose my interest in the story. The English used is not of the novels that I read and find of, for eg. the word "suddenly" comes as atleast four times in the book, try to get some exciting word for that. No matter however great the plot is, the novel keeps going on only around those loosely defined characters, at some point it's gets so frustrating when same kind of escapades keeps on happening. There should have been more mythological references in between instead of the repeatitive chases. I sincerely don't recommend this one to those who are gripped by those authors I mentioned in beginning. This was a bummer an unexpected one for me, hard part is I got this together with Alexander's Quest the next in the series....which I had to bear next.
