Books By Melanie Reinhart
Here is an indispensable reference for those who seek to understand Chiron’s meaning in the horoscope. Melanie Reinhart’s work demonstrates a rare combination of careful research, innovative thinking, thoughtful cultural commentary and inspired interpretation, as she explores the archetype of the Wounded Healer or Shaman.
"Suffering is present in everyone’s life, but relating with wisdom and compassion to our own experience turns ‘poison into medicine’. Thus we develop the awareness which both accompanies and also initiates new stages of our spiritual journey."
This book has accompanied the healing journey of thousands of people all over the world, and has been translated into six languages. Considered by many working astrologers as the definitive original text on the subject, this book gives detailed, thoroughly researched information on Chiron's astronomy and mythology, its placement through the houses and signs, as well as aspects to the major planets. New material which features in this edition includes discussion of the process of the 'Chiron Return' which occurs at age 50, an expanded review of Chiron as representing our current 'Zeitgeist', and extensive material on the astronomical picture.
Chiron, once a celestial anomaly, is now in a class of its own. In the 1990s, exciting astronomical discoveries yielded a new category of objects - 'The Centaurs'. Chiron is considered the prototype of this group which comprises the short-orbit comets that cross the paths of the planets from Saturn through to Neptune. The symbolism is perfect, as Chiron is that luminous thread of consciousness which links different levels of the inner and outer dimensions of our human experience, helping us make sense of our suffering in a deeply personal way, and thus to release our attachment to it.
Two seminars dealing with the theme of 'orienting' in our life.
The four angles comprise the fundamental structure of the horoscope, and Part One of
“Incarnation” looks in depth at their symbolism and meaning. The reader is taken on a
journey around the angles, considering their element, mode, and accompanying natal
and transiting planets There is also an illuminating presentation of the astronomy
involved. Traditional interpretations are augmented by the fresh and original
perspectives characteristic of Melanie’s teaching style, which focuses on evoking
personal insight as much as conveying information or technique. There is also a guided
imagery exercise which can be followed by the reader, designed to further personalise
and deepen the material.
Part Two explores the Nodes of the Moon. The reader is invited to contemplate their
meaning from first principles, considering the astronomical inter-relationship of the Sun, Moon and Earth in space. Established ideas about the interpretation of the Nodes are reviewed and sometimes challenged, and there are several interesting and original avenues of further exploration suggested. The imagery of the dragon is considered, along with
Draconic astrology, a fascinating case study, and an exploration of the psychological
processes connected with eclipses. This book will make a welcome addition to the existing literature on the Nodes, inspiring the reader with new techniques and perspectives which can easily be applied to the chart, to yield new understanding.

Several new celestial objects that behave somewhat like Chiron have been catalogued, and officially named "Centaurs". This unique compilation presents new material concerning the orbital cycle of Chiron, and a summary and elaboration of the astrological research to date on Pholus, the second Centaur. In addition, original material on the meaning of the third Centaur, 1992HA2, 'Nessus' is included, together with a new section on the astrology of its naming. The meaning of the Centaurs is re-contextualised, and an ephemeris for Chiron, Pholus and Nessus is included, as well as several explanatory diagrams. All technical material was specially computed and updated by Dieter Koch, master programmer.
Here, the reader can participate in a seminar where seed ideas were being expressed for the first time, and the astrologer will join in with the genesis of an entirely new understanding of factors which have proven themselves very useful in working with the individual horoscope. This material, first published in 1996, is a benchmark of intuitive research, exploring the meaning of these intriguing new objects.
This book offers a transcript of a live seminar given in London while Saturn was in Pisces, and the themes covered will illuminate this 'signature', as well as deepen your general understanding of Saturn in aspect to Neptune. If your astrological chart has these planets in aspect, or you were born with Saturn in Pisces, Saturn in the 12th house or Neptune in the 10th house, you will relate in a particularly intimate way to the material.
The interface between individual and collective is explored in a variety of ways. Mythological images discussed include the Greek gods Kronos and Pan, Parsifal and the Fool, and the processes of Alchemy and Karma. The traditional domicile of Saturn is reviewed, its transit cycle is explored in detail, and the final section includes discussion of Saturn's position through the 12 houses.
First published in 1996 by the CPA Press as part of their seminar series, this digital book contains the edited transcript of a seminar which was part of the Diploma programme of the Centre for Psychology Astrology in London. It was originally published together with material on Chiron and the Centaurs under the title 'Saturn, Chiron and the Centaurs' (available in printed version, Starwalker Press, 2011). This is a stand-alone version of the first transcription, a seminar on Saturn, specifically oriented to the Saturn-Neptune signature. In preparing this new edition, extensive revision was avoided, to allow the material to retain the freshness of the spoken word, as in the original edition.
