The product key was delivered in a sealed, genuine package - I have activated it for Mac and it is working. Installation can be a bit of a problem as clear steps are not provided.
1. Go to the setup page given on the packaging and create a Microsoft account if you don't have one already
2. Look for the option 'Enter Product Key' on your Microsoft dashboard
3. Enter the key, then the installer file will be shown to you - download and install
4. When you launch the application for the first time, sign in via the same Microsoft account and the product license will already be activated

Don't buy this if you have MAC

I ordered this in aug 2019. Installed it on my MAC and found that it is incompatible with MAC. This is because the key they are selling is meant for NEW PC's with preinstalled office or OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) key. For it to work, it should have been a Retail key. This is fraud. I spent almost an hour with Microsoft support team to find this. Worse, it is not eligible for return. Please buy directly from microsoft website and not from here.

I tried to activate the key online as given in the box but it was unable to activate and was giving a 'TOKEN NOT FOUND' ERROR immediately contacted the microsoft helpline...they were very helpful and I came to knew that the key provided is a virtual key and you need to first download the office software(or install it from the provided CD) and then activate it rather than activating it online!

Paying attention to the wave of negative reviews, I have decided to post my experience, so that consumers can effectively take decision regarding the purchase of this product.
First of all, unlike my expectation, I received only a thin card (as you can see in the 1st photo). I opened officeactivation.in, and i was asked to enter the amazon order number. i did so and a new webpage opened, which mentioned the product key issued with my order number (you can see this in the 2nd photo). then, i visited redeem.microsoft.com and entered the product key. however, it stated "the product key has already been used". i was dumbfounded! Then, i contacted the tech support on WhatsApp (their WhatsApp no. was printed on the card i had received). they were very helpful and i was then given a new product key! i again went to redeem.microsoft.com, typed the new key, and hit 'enter'. the Microsoft support webpage opened and office 2019 was hence linked to my Microsoft account, offering the choice of 'install'. i clicked on install, and the download-installation procedure started, getting completed in 50 minutes.
See, if you get only a piece of paper, don't get shocked. also, if you find that the product key has been used, don't get panicked; contact the tech support. they will help you, as i saw in my experience. Good luck!

Setup Steps are simple
Just Download The Installer of *Microsoft Office Home and Student 2019* by searching on Google - (have to figure out which website has the proper installer). Download and install and then have to Enter The Product Key Given In The Box and you have Licensed Product. Enjoy ! Completely Reliable to do this way, Saves A Lot of Money instead of buying from Microsoft

At first when I followed instruction and proceeded I was not able to install. Error was " the product key is already in use". I was shocked.. contacted the number given, but since it was night 1 am.. no one replied.

However, net day I got texted from technical support on their own.. they gave me a new key immediately and Bang On.. office installation comply..

One thing to say to seller.. Don't scare buyers this way.

Even my problem is sorted.. I will give 4 * as I didn't sleep entire night thinking what to do.. and whether seller is authentic or not..

The difference between This And 365 plan is that 365 Offers all Applications Including Publisher and Access, While This Plan is For Basic Use and thus consists of Only Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. So Consider your Need (For Eg. I am a Student And my basic use requires me to only buy Basic apps like Word, Excel and PowerPoint) However you need Access and Publisher Along with OneDrive Storage, MS-Office 365 Suits you best. Also Note That 365 is yearly plan and expires after an year while this is lifetime plan.

In my case also, there was difficulty in initially installing the software isas the key provided was not working, and I started making lot of unnecessary assumptions about the product or seller being fake. so i was expecting a white box and all i got was this note. at first i thought my dream of buying office at 1/4 the mrp is over. but!! i thought i give it a try. i went to the website mentioned, which generated a key. signed into ms account through official website and uploaded key. ms office was added to my account and i installed and after installation signed in with ms id. it works like a charm. so far its good. i also got ms note , but donno how far it will work. for other three, theres no mention of lifetime in service and sub section on ms website. the grammar errors in all tesco emails and this note were a bit alarming , but given the product and installation process going smoothly, a big thumbs up. tesco seems like genuine seller . it was my first amazon purchase of ms software , and so far seems legit. shall keep all posted if it goes haywire from here. for now go ahead and buy it especially if its prime
