Product description
Review
Rupi Kaur's first book, Milk and Honey is the poetry collection every woman needs on her nightstand or coffee table. Accompanied by her own sketches, the beautifully honest poems read like the everyday, collective experiences of today's modern woman. (Erin Spencer, Huffington Post)
Rupi Kaur’s writing echoes of artistry and wisdom which is seen in the work of those that have been writing for years. (Samira Sawlani, Media Diversified)
Rupi’s poetry is simple, relatable, gorgeous, and grounded in the everyday experiences of young women. (Rachel Grate, Hello Giggles)
The honest words of Rupi Kaur leave you continuously wanting more as she writes with eloquence and poise. Her work will send you to past thoughts and realities you might not have known you had.
(Sienna Brown, WildSpice Magazine)
"A must-have poetry collection about healing and hope." (Bustle)
"At age 24, Rupi Kaur has been called the voice of her generation." (USA Today)
“Rupi Kaur has vision beyond her years … Her work is simply but powerfully expressed, and viscerally captures both universal human experience and the particular struggles of a young woman today." (Huffington Post)
“Discussing themes of love, loss, and healing, Milk and Honey finds a way to connect to every reader. “ (Business Insider)
"Milk and Honey brings any tormented reader to an enlightened state of self-reflection that may have taken years to accomplish alone.”
(Elite Daily) --This text refers to an alternate kindle_edition edition.

I received the product on time. So kudos to the logistics team. I love this book. There's absolutely nothing not to love about it. The cover of the book is so soft and velvety , it's quite different from the usual paperback covers. Also love her sketches . Every bit of the verses have life in them. I highly recommend purchasing it! One could just pick up the book and start from any random page. That's the beauty of this book.

" She was a rose in the hands of those who had no intention of keeping her" - Rupi Kaur
So I finally know what the fuss is all about! I am in love with this piece of art. And would recommend to all who haven't read this book🌸
I don't think there is anyway I can put my thoughts about the book into words. I'll just say that it is beautiful and extremely tender! I am still in complete awe!

To say that I loved this book is an understatement. I love to read a book where a woman stands up against all the stupid ideals about women in the society and bares her heart out to the reader. This book is one such masterpiece. I've read this book multiple times. Slowly, grasping every word and then hastily all at once. I love all the part of the book but the last one gave me wings to fly. To say that I love this book is an understatement. I think I can say that I've lived this book.

I didn't really like the book much and it didn't stand up to my high expectations. Rupi Kaur does feel you and writes wonders and the illustrations are pretty beautiful but the context - it seems you have already read that before(probably on the social networking sites). So, I guess, reading this book doesn't give me an enthusiasm of getting to know something 'more'.

A good book. My suggestion is not to reead it all at once. The book is divided in three parts. Read one part at a time and let your yourself feel and absorb what you read.

If you are a guy and loves to read poems this isn't the best book for you, It sort of displays the problems that is faced by girls and how they feel about it. It didn't gave me positive vibes, There is a lot going good too, and I rather spend my time looking to those good things.

About the book, I just can't express in words how good the book is there, it's just so mesmerising! It speaks right to the heart. The sketch along with verses are pretty interesting.
If you are not into poetry , pick this up and try it and you'll really like it l. But if you love poetry well it'll be an amazing one to be part of your collection! It's very emotional , empowering of sorts and you can connect in a lot of ways.
Read it!! Try it out !!❤️😍

🖤
The book is divided into four sections namely 'the hurting', 'the loving', 'the breaking' and 'the healing'. Powerful language is used all along. 'Milk' and 'honey' have so many connotations throughout the book. I feel the book has the potential to make the reader somewhat stronger and wiser. The narrative is raw and unapologetic. This book has a universal appeal and should be read at least once by everyone either to understand the people around them or to understand their own self.

I have heard so many people praising and talking about the marvelous writings of Rupi Kaur in her debut book. When I finally picked it up, I was in awe of her writing style, her strength and her determination to rise up against all the odds. When I started reading this book, I couldn't stop in between. I finished it in about two hours and I was touched. I did go back to a few of her verses to think more deeply and yes, I did note some of them down to gain strength during difficult times in the future.

CONFUSED
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 November 2019Verified Purchase
I'm not easily shocked.
My main concern is that this book if being promoted by someone on you tube aimed at 12/13/14 year olds.
I do not consider this modern poetry.
As someone who has worked with adult surivors I would say this is not suitable reading let alone for a teenager.

Tolles Buch zum Verfließen mit kleinem Abstrich !
Reviewed in Germany on 8 April 2019Verified Purchase

Super underwhelming
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 31 May 2018Verified Purchase
Maybe one in every 20 "poems" is any good. As another reviewer pointedly said, writing common sense short sentences in random spaces without punctuation or capital letters does not make it poetry. It feels more like a collection of my friends' half-arsed Instagram captions...

Relatable, raw and enlightening, Milk and Honey takes you on a poetical journey through real and serious topics.
If you're new to poetry and are looking for a poetry book to get you started, I would definitely recommend Milk and Honey to you! Easy to read yet packed with emotion and small details, Milk and Honey is sure to pull you into the wonderful world of poetry.
Throughout the book, we are treated to some beautiful illustrations which compliment the poems perfectly.
Give this book a go, even if poetry isn't your thing as you will likely be pleasantly surprised! I passed this book onto one of my best friends who I thought would also benefit from hearing these poems of real, heart wrenching life struggles.
Milk and Honey is one book that will stay with me in my heart for a long time!
