When Yoko was little, she had everything she could dream of in Japan, except time with her busy parents. She used to write wishes and tie them to the branches of the trees in the local temple to be less alone. When war broke out, Yoko was often hungry and had to use her imagination to transport her. After the war, she made her way to New York to meet free spirits and study art. She worked as artist, and hosted gatherings with her trailblazing friends, and then one day, John Lennon came to see her work. And together, they imagined a better world. This inspiring book features stylish and quirky illustrations and extra facts at the back, including a biographical timeline with historical photos and a detailed profile of the climate artist's life.

Everyone knows how a day goes.
The sun rises and shines above us with his glorious smile.
At the end of the day, he disappears over the horizon.
But what people don't know is what the sun gets up to after he goes home . . .
The sun loves to make people happy. But beneath his glorious smile, he doesn't always feel so shiny. At the end of the day, when the sun goes home, he sometimes feels a little lonely.
The sun believes he has no choice but to carry on shining, no matter what ... until one day, disaster strikes. He finds himself falling from the sky!
Will anyone hear his call and come to help him?
A problem shared is a problem halved in this warm and original bedtime story about friendship, emotions and kindness.
Books make good pets and don't need going to the vet.
You don't have to keep them on a lead or throw them a stick.
They'll wag their words whenever you flick their dog-eared pages.
Even howl an ancient tale for the inward-listening ear.
Did you know that a book can take you anywhere? You only need to turn the pages of a story, and in a moment, you and your book could be crossing the waves in a pirate ship... or diving with mermaids... or even snoozing with a dragon.
Books really DO make good pets! Why don't you peep inside this one, and take your mind on an adventure?
This delightful original picture book poem is the perfect gift for anyone who delights in the magic of a good book. Agard's evocative, lyrical style is perfectly complemented with illustrations by Momoko Abe, whose colourful visuals add character, transporting the reader into an enchanting world of imagination.
