5.0 out of 5 stars Aunty Iqra has arrived and how. ❤️
By Sejal Srinivasan on 4 August 2022
Reading this book was sheer nostalgia. For someone who's always had her nose buried in the pages of Nancy Drew and Trixie Belden since her middle school years, getting our own desi, snoopy, detective ‘aunty’ was nothing short of a dream.

Iqra, along with her hubby, Saad, relocates to Mysore for his work. Being a people person, she sets out to befriend neighbours in her locality. Everyone, but a cantankerous old lady who dislikes everyone, welcome her. One day, the old lady is found dead in her home and when Iqra comes to know she was poisoned, she vows to find her killer. From here on, begins her quest to find the killer, snooping and nosing around all the people who disliked her, getting pally with the lady’s children, with Saad, by her side, helping and supporting her all the way. Having an innately curious nature, she observes everything happening around her and goes on to solve the mystery with panache.

I never thought I would utter the words, mystery and humour in a single sentence, but our Iqra clearly proved me wrong. I was on the edge of my seat, biting my nails, howling loudly at the funny situations, only she can manage to get herself into. She's quirky, compassionate, funny, irritatingly nosy, and inquisitive; the very qualities which make her an excellent sleuth. Bold and weird, she's also quick to get hurt when her friendliness is not reciprocated. Saad is a dream hubby, so in love with his wife, and supports all her wackiness. Their domesticated life after marriage and their romance is beautifully showcased. The flow of the story is fluid, totally engrossing you, wherein you suspect every neighbour as she cross-questions them. The climax was thrilling and a shocker. Iqra sure is going to make the term ‘Aunty’ look cool and happening. Loved it and waiting for more of ‘Aunty’ Iqra. If you love mystery and romance alike, this one is a must read.
