डॉ॰ बशीर बद्र दुनिया के दो दर्जन से ज़्यादा मुल्कों में मुशायरों में शिरकत कर चुके हैं। बशीर बद्र आम आदमी के शायर हैं। ज़िंदगी की आम बातों को बेहद ख़ूबसूरती और सलीके से अपनी ग़ज़लों में कह जाना बशीर बद्र साहब की ख़ासियत है। उन्होंने उर्दू ग़ज़ल को एक नया लहज़ा दिया। यही वजह है कि उन्होंने श्रोताओं और पाठकों के दिलों में अपनी ख़ास जगह बनाई है।
