My Black Rose Kindle Edition
I wrote this book to remind you to never
give up on hope in times of pitch-black
darkness. I know you are falling weak,
your steps are faltering, sceptical of
whether you should keep moving forward.
I wanted this book to remind you that you
are a fighter, and that no matter how many
thorns lie ahead, you have to keep moving
forward to see the light at the end of the
tunnel. I hope this book helps you find
acceptance in the shadows of self-loathing
and hopelessness and teaches you to
identify your own rarity in this world of 8
billion. May the words written between
these pages teach you how to discern the
beauty in the aura of the dark.

"To not give up hope in the darkest of times"
The book is divided into 3 sections -
All the poems are deep and meaningful. The poems in the beginning are dark and in the past tense. These poems mainly focuses on the bitter memories. But the poems in the last section are full of hope and positivity.
Language used is rich but easy to understand. The writing style of the poetess is superb. She weaved her words like a magic which has the power to touch one's heart and soul. The poems of last section are enough to motivate.
The cover of the book is simple and the title is totally apt. The illustrations given in the book are readers friendly. All the poems are interconnected with each other like a story. Wounded sections as the title suggests showed the wounds of life. Scarred section talked about the effect of wounds on one's life and the last healing section gave the power to overcome with these difficulties.
My favorite poems are :-
1. Scars of life.
2. I look at the trees
3. The girl next door
Overall, a hopeful read.
When or how it happened
I never realized,
But it was necessary, and for it, I'll never apologize."
The book is divided into three parts
The first part talks about the scares and those unforgettable incidents that one faces during their life. We get into those thoughts where we find no interest in life, happiness, or people around. That's exactly when we have to give strength to ourselves and get positive.
The second part talks about the impact of those scares. We tend to keep the pain within ourselves but that's not always a perfect solution to it. Sleepless nights, unanswered questions, and regret take us to that level where even we start giving pain to ourselves. But this is the most important time when you have to stand for yourself and give some strength to get back on your feet.
The third part talks about the positive vibes and energies that one should always carry. That dark hidden scars might be affecting you deeply but you need to shine and let those cracks shine too. You might be broken but gather courage, restore your faith and get back to work.
The author has done a good job. She has managed the content well. There are some beautiful illustrations that bring a different energy to the book. The language used is easy to read and understand. The cover disappointed me. I feel that it could be better. Rest everything is good in the book.
If you love poetry then you should surely try this one.

The book is a collection of powerful poetic take on the human mind and its struggles. The book basically, through its poetic liberty brings forward some important observations and topics that make us question whether what we know about mental struggle is apt and as to whether we know about it in its whole truth. That is why I feel that the book is so heavy and at the same time powerful.
Poetry is the toughest craft to pull because in so few words you have to pull the greatest narration. Debalina has pulled the greatest magic in that sense since the words hit you where it hurts. The book has some amazing lines that carry layers of meaning to it and that to me is the pure beauty of the book. To read it may sound simple but when you try to understand its meaning that’s when you realise it has got its layers going deep
In conclusion, I would say that the book will not be an easy read but is a necessary read. It would help you understand the importance of addressing the struggle of our mental ups and downs. To see the sun’s true glory, you have to be prepared to burn and go blind. That is what the book is about. Prepare to be hit by a strong current but at the same time, you will feel its warmth and strength. Powerful book. Powerful words that evoke powerful emotions.
