This is a short and sweet second-chance romance from one of my favourite authors. Samaira and Raghav love each other, but there are obstructions. The author very sensitively highlights the class divide in urban India.
The characters of Samaira and Raghav show that true love always finds a way. Even though the scope of humour in the book is less, Shilpa Suraj's trademark humour does peek through especially in the early bit of the book.

Samaira Reddy, the girl in the big house, the Bade Sahib's daughter, only wants one thing and one person...a life with her childhood sweetheart, her Rags.
Raghav Cherukuri has always been known as the driver's son. And has also always loved his Sam, the girl he can never have and never forget. And so, he leaves her and his life in Hyderabad behind.
But now, Raghav is back. A Chief Officer in the Merchant Navy, he is the success he’s always wanted to be. And yet, he has failed.
Samaira is meeting the ‘perfect groom’ her family approves of…A man whom Raghav can never be.
Can it finally be their time to be together? Or has their happy-ever-after passed them by?
This novella was previously part of the anthology Something Old Something New

Loved Samaira and Raghav's story.
I love reading second chance romances. In Sam and Raghav's case they deserve to be together even if the whole world turned against them. But second chances are difficult especially when there is a hurtful past.
Recommended if you love second chance love stories.

A beautiful story of true love and heartbreaking yearning between the protagonists who belong to different social classes. It was full of hope, and the belief that everyone is equal. I loved Samaira. She was all heart and courage, never wavering from her belief that Raghav was meant to be hers. And Raghav was the perfect gentleman- seething with angst and unrequited love.
What I loved most was the child-like purity in their love that was endearing.
A well-written fast paced story, laced with wit and poignant undertones.

There's heartbreak and then there's heartbreak because the girl you love is completely out of your reach. Raghav and Samaira's story will have you rooting for love, and you wish you can give Samaira a little nudge in Raghav's direction. One of my favourite stories in the second chance romance trope.

When you are mad that the story has ended, you know it was a good one! Sam and Rag linger on long after you've finished the book. Well written and unusual combination of characters!
