I thoroughly enjoyed reading this anthology and was especially excited to read it since all of the stories were written by women. I am usually a fan of horror anyway, but it’s quite common for horror to be cliché and predictable. I found each of these stories to be unique, original and scary in their own, different ways which kept me hooked through the entirety of the book. I also think it was super interesting to see how the themes pertaining to women in horror were changed or depicted differently throughout these stories. Common themes of women as the victims, societal expectations, and roles of women are presented and altered through these stories.

I found most interesting the story by Livia Llewellyn, “It Feels Better Biting Down.” The story is about twin sisters that look different than the average person and the sisters discover they can bite off parts of their body and reattach or rearrange them in any way they want and end morphing themselves together to become the “perfect being.” The story perfectly conveyed how women struggle with self-love and body acceptance and constantly feel the need to change something about themselves.

A few of these stories also depict the roles of women as mothers and also change the perspective of motherhood by showing the possible consequences of having children as illustrated in the story, “Martyrdom” by Joyce Carol Oates.

Another unique part of the book that I really enjoyed was the illustrations at the beginning of the stories and toward the end of the novel. They really made the stories come to life.

It is hard to rate a magazine with several short stories in it, but all of them were good and some of them were amazing. I'm thinking of subscribing to this magazine because I enjoyed this issue so much. My only quibble is that the art didn't show very well on my regular Kindle; I wish they had provided web-links so that I could view the art in full-color on my desktop.
