I found that where it says to gently fold in the cream, it just doesn't work, you end up with lumps of cream in your set ice cream. I'll also be honest that some of the recipes or more the flavours are far too 'out there' even for me and my brood but maybe others will be a bit more adventurous. I haven't tested all of the recipes, as I said some of them I just never will but it certainly gives you the foundations of some great ice cream without the churning and of course there are sorbets and other things. I especially like the basic caramel. The book is sorted into categories which I found a bit confusing but then I just used the search function to find the ones I was looking for. As the title says, overall a great book of recipes that do indeed avoid the churning.
The only negative I can mainly offer is that the ice cream and especially the gelato melts pretty quickly. It gets harder, the longer it sits in the freezer so after a few days, you can't really let it sit and thaw for long as the outside will already be turning to soup before you can even scoop the rest of it, but maybe I just need to get a bit better at making it.
