5.0 out of 5 stars If you had to have one pan, this would be it. Quality Par Excellence!
By Winnie on 19 November 2020
Absolutely recommend this to everyone. Great quality. It's thicc and heavy with sharp curves. Gives amazing definition to your cakes. If you had to have one pan, this would be it. Just oiling/buttering well works. No need to dust flour over it - dusting flour can make your cake look patchy. Its non stick surface, solves this problem.

PS: I am an amateur baker. You don't need to be a professional to get this right.

2.0 out of 5 stars This was poor quality given the Nordic Ware reputation
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 May 2020
Given the price, I've decided to return the bundt tin because of the quality. I've heard so many good things about the brand, so I was really surprised to see how uneven the inside surface was. There are metal burrs that I think cake would stick to all along the edges of the grooves. Near the inner ring there was metal that was shaved flatter than other parts, and I'm not sure how a cake would look because of it. It's also odd because the outside looks much nicer than the inside. I've asked for another to be sent, and I will follow up about the quality of that one.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very expensive but an excellent bundt pan. Very small - good for a small family.

Produces a good-looking sponge with distinct and well-defined ridges.

This is a small cake pan suitable for a small family. (The larger version ASIN B00004RFQ4, which I also recommend, is for a dinner party or a large family.) It's probably best for a 3-egg or maybe even a 2-egg batter. For my first go I used a 4-egg batter but the sponge outgrew the tin and came out looking like a Weeble and I had to cut off the base.

You don't need as much icing as for a conventional 8-inch diameter 2-layer sandwich cake. My first attempt ended up rather overloaded, as I'd made my usual recipe then mistakenly kept adding it to the bundt as I didn't want to waste it.

For its small size the tin's very expensive (almost as much as the larger version) but it's good value if you use it a lot. As you'd expect from this brand it's sturdy and well-made, so much so that if you look after the non-stick coating (no metal tools, handwash) the pan will last forever (in fact you don't need to use any tools on the tin at all).

This worked: Very thoroughly and very liberally coated the pan with 'baking spray' (not 'cooking spray'), using a pastry brush. Put in batter (see photo for level), banged tin down on a padded surface, rolled batter around tin. Put cake in oven on a metal baking tray (oven preheated to 180 degrees fan then turned it down to 170 degrees). 40 mins cooking (timer was set to 35 mins for visual check). Cooled in pan for 10 mins. Put a cooling rack over it, turned it over, heard/felt the cake fall out with a little thud (satisfying). Cooled for 1.5 hours before decorating.
