* I would rate it 4/5.
It is my first book I read by Vish Dhamija. I came across this book in my one of the Amazon`s book hunts. It is a neat thriller novel as the title itself speaks. The plot and the story line is quite engrossing as its every chapter ends with a hint of what can happen next, but honestly, this book is totally unpredictable. Though some parts of the story were a bit... no quite a lot of a drag eg: there is some tedious debauched content in the book which made me want to close it and place it back in the stack as an accessory to my collection, but thank god it did`nt happen, because as the story proceeded the plot got more convincing with each passing event. The plot sequence and the main outcome of the novel is simply genius. I wasn't expecting such an impactful climax. Initially, I was quite confused about the process of the story. But as aforementioned, as the story proceeded, the cat came out of the bag.
The first half of the book is slow paced with the introduction of some of the minor characters, a tinge of the story line and all the unnecessary debauchery I aforementioned. In some parts it also felt like the book is needlessly extended (especially the sensual scenes and other random events), without even the need of them being added. Another ridiculing element of the characterisation is that, that every character is a drunkard, let it be the antagonist or protagonist, except one person, that you would know who when you read the book .
The other half of the book is where the actual story begins, with the secrets and deeds getting unveiled gradually. It is the second part of the book which convinced me to change my mind from some of the snags I mentioned above. Another plus point in the second part and the climax of the story is the dexterous expression of the intricate scenes, those are the highlight of the book as a whole.
Now if you ask me to tell about the book in just one word than I would regard it as "Karmic". Because the wheels of Karma leaves no one unsquashed. And, yes I would recommend this book, not highly recommend but just casually recommend, u know what I mean ? Just with a bit of less excitement, but i would. =]
what the book is about :
Raaj and Serena are couple with a happy married life. Serena is out of the country in Singapore attending a business trip. One day due to some unknown reason a fire break into their apartment and Raaj gets burnt to death. After the police investigation, conducted by the Inspector Michael D`Cunha, he is unconvinced with the reason behind the accident. He reckon that the accident is instead an arson, and something conspicious has taken place. His doubt turns into motive as the couple`s close friend Kim slips into his radar and more evidences unveils. But when main culprit(s) is busted, the scenario takes a 360 degree turn.
I would definitely recommend this book.
Thank You.
Though i would have liked the author stalled the revealing of the plot a bit longer.A good read though and a 5* for the story.
As usual, the language is a bit difficult (which is common in almost all the novels of Vish Dhamija) but you will be able to comprehend the meaning well because of the flow of the story.
Overall a good novel to read once.
Happy reading!!

- part 1 was a tad slow but after that it caught speed and couldn't put the book down...
- I liked Raaj and Serena, very interesting characters,a loving couple and readers will like their devotion to each other..
- I was hoping kabir will hook up with Victoria...
- the sense of detailing was excellent ESP on clothes..
- it could be an excellent movie ..
- 3/4 words I had to look up in dictionary..
- twist in the book is worth waiting for ..
Over all a good mystery and very well written... It felt like a movie ...with flashbacks ..
The very best for your next book!

Getting straight back to the point
1. Scene creation: 5/5. All the scenes in Mumbai, Dubai, UK and other places were quite well created. One good thing was the creation of scenes did not kill the story which I have experienced in some other books I read.
2. Character creation: 4/5. The author did a good job at creating personalities around all the characters. In my opinion, a few characters towards 3rd quarter of the story were not very well personified.
3. Story line: 4/5. I hope I do not reveal secrets while writing the review. But secret that was un-buried in the middle of the story, I would have loved to read it revealed at a much later stage
Overall, the book is an awesome read, will do a good job at keeping you glued to it. Good one Vish... Look forward to reading your next titles!

I look forward to Dhamija's next book!

I could not put the book down, I was overcome with curiosity. I highly recommend this book and look forward to reading more of this author's work.
