This is a story of about 3 people ( Myra,Kabir,Sandy) who comes from different background and with different problems.
The story is written with the perspective of Myra & Kabir.
It is a Story about these 3 people, who wants to got of there cubicle & start their own startup.

Book reflects us ! It's about you & me battling everyday with self, family and society for the lives we want to lead. Very relatable characters with lot of wit and humour. It's a must read.

An O.K. Story

With three main characters, this book definitely started off on a good note. The characters were explored well. The storyline was thought of and well defined.
Myra and Kabir make a great pair in the book.
I couldn't help but notice, all this seems a little far-fetched but then someone once said, all good stories seem far-fetched .
I was glad of the soul-searching journey, since I have been on the exact same trek as they took. Not that I came back with some enlightenment every time but it did help me in certain ways and I am glad that the author has made the characters and the journey greatly relatable.

This quote from On The Open Road, resonates so much with us, the millenials. Stuck in jobs, family responsibilities, relationships, EMI traps but a desire in heart to achieve something.
Myra, stuck in office cubicle of IT factory, Kabir, working relentlessly on the family business and Sandy, college dropout working on multiple startup ideas but none ever lasting. More or less this defines most of the persons around us or even ourselves. We want to broke those shackles but are unable to do so, we want to achieve something of our own but are scared and pulled back by family or friends or well wishers.
But Myra, Kabir and Sandy broke through these shackles due to one reason or the other and after getting inspired by the Ramy's blog they start travelling to Parvati Valley. On the trip Myra, meets with Kabir and Sandy and after much persuasion decides to join them on their startup journey. But this is not as easy or fancy as it looks on blogs or social media and this is where the reality sets in. But these three fought through their way and tries to achieve their dreams.
The book would be a five star for me if there would be no family villain and without the love story of Kabir and Myra. Two colleagues can work together on a startup, can spend multiple hours, days or months together without being into a relationship.
But all in all a nice read with all the latest setting of blogging, travel startups, startup culture prevalent currently and the IT factory. Kudos to the author for a captivating book.

This simple read about 3 lives will definitely leave you motivated and inspired. It's about the self discovery and know who you actually are before going ahead with some random idea. It describes the struggle faced by the millennials while proving themselves to their families and society.

This story of trio is really going to inspire the upcoming artists who are still debating with their families to start their own journey. But if you persevere with your dream and have faith it it, it will either make you succeed or make you capable to succeed, both ways you win.

Myra, the protagonist finally leaves her monotonous job, family and longtime boyfriend to find herself in the lap of nature in Himalayas. In her quest to find herself, she found her future co-partners Kabir and Sandy.

Kabir, who is born with a silver spoon, CEO of company which manufactures diapers is not happy to lead his family business. He has a long time friend Sandy who is a dropout from college and aspires to be a entrepreneur.

The plot revolves around the trio who embark on the open road. Will they come out of their comfort zone? Will they make it towards their goal? Will their dream come true? To know all this you have to go through the book.

Coming to writing, it is as simple and light. The way she has narrated the story, it is quite relatable to our lives. She has shown the reality of the startups in India, their struggles, passion, zest, enthusiasm and excitement. The characters are very well developed. I liked the presence of characters like Mr.Kashyap, who are there to support and bring the confidence. It is because of such people that make a gem out of you and boost your confidence level.

The climax, was worth to wait and turn the pages. The power of social media has been well exploited and presented. It was fun to read all twisted storyline.

The story was gripping from the start and it maintained its pace throughout. It is light and interesting read. Would recommend it for all the millennials.

Stuti Changle’s “On the Open Road” is a journey of three people Myra, Kabir and Sandy. Their dream is to Start-up a Company. Myra is software developer, Kabir is who has runs his family business with his uncle and Sandy is who is a college dropout and an unsuccessful app developer. And all the three are unhappy with their current life, and due to that all the three embark upon on a journey on the open road. And there is one more guy Ramy who is a blogger, and he inspires many people through his travel blog. Will Myra, Kabir and Sandy overcome their obstacles or they will succumb to the hardships of the journey?
The plot is amazing. Most of us can relate to the character in this book. The writing is simple and crisp. The narration of the story is fabulous. The author has narrated in such a manner, she has address all the obstacles faced by entrepreneurs in their initial periods. The one liners or the quotes are amazing and also are very inspiring.
I loved all the characters but my favourite character was of Myra because the people who are working in corporate firms, dreams of starting a company, but most of the people don’t dare to do that due to many reasons. And the same goes for Myra, she dreams about starting up a company but wasn’t able to do it because of that same reasons.
This book is one of the best I have ever read. From its plot to addressing the social taboos to the inspirational one liners or quotes.

Each of them comes from a different background ::

Myra: Has a 9-5 job. She badly wants to break free from the routine life.
Kabir - Runs his family Business. He is constantly debating his plan of breaking free of his heritage.
Sandy - A college dropout who runs a startup that isn't successful (yet).
Ramy - The one on the open road - who inspires millions from his travel blog.

It is the story of these restless 20-somethings, who dream to start a company. Throughout their journey, they face a lot of hardships, but they still keep working hard for it and never give up. Eventually they achieve their goal. This is an incredible story for all of us, which teaches us to keep working for what we believe in and to have faith in ourselves.

What I liked about the book:
1. 'On the open road' will take you on an emotional roller-coaster ride. It's a simple yet relatable.
2. It instills inspiration and confidence in the readers to take the coveted off beaten path.
3. The quotes used in the book are deep and remain with you long after you finish reading.

What could be better:
1. Cliche story, predictable plot. The novelty factor was missing.
2. Continuity was missing in some parts. It was like the author wanted to convey a lot of things at once, and made an haphazard attempt at it.
3. Unnecessary mention of Starbucks every now and then.

All in all, a good inspirational book for all the startup aspirants, especially the Gen Z folks.

The thing I did not like about the book is that it ended! I was enjoying the journey. Apart from that, I needed some answers that I did not actually get but these questions could be overlooked.

This book is one of the best book that I have read so far. It contains some beautifully penned quotes which are highly inspirational.

The story revolves around three main characters Myra - an IT professional , Kabir - who continues his family business and Sandy - a college dropout. Three different characters are craving for one dream that is the startup idea. Each character has it's own uniqueness. Everyone is battling some different fight as a startup is not that easy it's like you have to defeat the inner negatives and ignore the social talks. Each obstacles can be tackled if there is the fire inside you. There are quotes at each chapter and that totally goes with the essence of it. It's the story about passion, friendship, love, social status, depression and the list is long.

The story revolves around three people- Myra, Kabir and Sandy. We have the struggle part described for all three of them. Myra is fed up of her 9-5 cubicle life but longs to startup a business with friends. Kabir is a rich gyu who has his family business, but he wants to have a business of his own. Then we have Sandy who is Kabir’s friend, who’s a college dropout and has his own startup creating apps but is not very successful.
We have another Character Ramy(Myra’s friend) to whom people look up to. He is a traveler and a blogger. Kabir and Sandy draw inspiration.
The plot is something that every single person in the corporate rat race can relate to. It has elements of love, friendship, dream, travel and success. The writing is simple and crisp. I completed the book at one go. The book is mentioned as unputdownable on the cover, since its fast-paced. But seriously, it did not let down my expectation and has lived up to it.
Stuti, coming from the corporate background herself has brought out the experiences just as it is in reality.
The one liners and the quotes will inspire anyone with ambitions but has inhibitions to proceed with it. I have listed out some of the one-liners I liked.
I loved the cover and how the title aptly suits the plot. I loved reading the second half especially. The characterization was done brilliantly with no sugar-coating. They were genuine in their portrayal.
Anyone who has a dream of owning a startup should give this book a read. I felt people from other walks of life could find it a little difficult to relate to the experiences noted by Stuti. Though the book is a light read, the amount of experience and self-motivation we gain is a lot. The book makes you self-introspect to think ahead of career and make decisions.

First, I was not sure about the book, whether should I read this one or not? Because I thought this book is a proper self-help book but when I went through about the book and its reviews, I finally agree and ordered it to review this. And it was totally above to my expectations.

Myra, a software engineer. Who always wanted to see herself free from her cubicle. She was just taking a step toward her dream in starting up a company with her friend Neerav. When life played its cards with them.
On the other hand, Sandy, a college dropout student who was addicted to creating mobile apps and games. He was also seeking a new big startup idea with his friend Kabir. Where Kabir who was rich and CEO of the company. Also, a guy who was fantasized and blessed with every single high priced gadget. He opted to leave his comfort, girlfriend, and everything behind and choose to take risks to follow his dream and passion.

What did I like in the book most?

I really liked the character of Myra. She was totally close to me and my heart when I was reading. And I think she will be close to every girl’s heart. She was totally showing the fear of a girl that her family will force to get married to someone in the name of the settlement before achieving her goal. Also, I really loved that how she boldly took the decision of leaving her job and family without informing them and tried to stay away from them for herself or to understand her needs and herself.
A phase comes in the book when three of them were running or actively searching for the investors or mentors to invest in their company/ to teach or tell them that what is right and wrong, how, when and where to implement ideas and things. From one investor to another. The Book was so realistic and practical that you can imagine every single incident. In search of investors or mentors, they met several people and every kind of people. Just like it happens in our life.
There was coming positive vibes from the book which were continuously telling or reminding that – Life is a journey. You have to take risks or a break from the work sometimes to know yourself. You don’t need to give up on small or stupid things because Obstacles will follow you forever ever in your journey towards your passion/dream/goal. But, you don’t have to give up.
