This well narrated short story has never failed to do that magic !!
Gives a feel of roaming around the City of Lights -Paris along with /(as) Aditi equally tasting all the 14 short sweet treats that she carries!!
How I Wish Preity Zinta Had Come Across The Author Shobana Mahadevan And Opted To Adapt This Mushy Love Story For Her Debut Screen Production Then Perhaps She Could Have Delivered Herself With A Mega Hit. But Alas,Now All That Falls In The Realm Of Speculation Alone Simply Because Preity Zinta Turned Into An Independent Producer With Ishq In Paris In 2013 After Several Nasty Hiccups. While Shobana Mahadevan’s One Day In Paris Was Her Christmas Gift In 2020. So Therein Rests This Trivia On Love In Paris.
That Having Been Said As An Aside, Let Me Return On Track To Say That Old Fashioned Love Stories Rarely Fail Especially When They Happen To Be Well Knit With A Fine Plot And Are Narrated Straight From The Heart With Conviction That Hooks The Reader Not Only Pulling On Their Heartstrings By Dragging Them Into The Plot. After All Is Said And Done Who Does Not Root For Happily Ever After Love Story?
Not Only Is A Day In Paris A Heartwarming Love Story That Is Kept Away From
Turning Into An Over The Top Mushy Romance But Is Well Balanced To Keep The Readers Engrossed From Start To
Finish Not Withstanding Patches Where The Author Unintentionally Applies Brakes On This Smooth Flowing Shudh Desi Romance That Travels From Hyderabad To Paris And Back Several Times Over Across Two Generations.
Not Everyone Is Lucky As Aditi And Raj To Get A Second Chance Out Of The Blues To Actually Watch Their High School Crush Blossom Into Love In Paris When They Had Virtually Drifted Apart From School Without Voicing Their Silent Emotions. But The Silent Yearning Turns Uncontrollable A Decade Later And A Fresh Chapter Is Reignited When Fate Throws Them Together Again. But What Is The USP Of A Day In Paris Is That The Book Does Not Actually End When Aditi And Raj Actually Discover Love. Actually That Is The Interval Only. The Circle Is Only Completed When Their 12 Year Old Daughter Guha Also Comes Into The Picture Like A Whiff Of Fresh Air.
Add to that the charm of Paris, and you have a romantic tale.
I loved the characters and also the interactions between them the scenes are well described and the story is a quick read.
