This is a good Thesaurus in itself but a keen learner should always refer to at least 2 different Thesaurus. As for me, I always lookup for X word in Oxford Thesaurus and Google “X meaning” as well coz Google also provides synonyms. More often that’s not, you will one 1 word in 10 searches which Oxford Thesaurus does not have.
Another habit I am instilling is to read every word from this dictionary at least once in the next 3 years. I have a wooden pencil with me. If I read one entry once , I mark a Roman numberal 1 there noting that I have read it once.

'Printed in Great Britain' I found it fake but definitely not a misrepresentation. Because if it was printed there, the quality would be the best as well as the finishing of the book. I don't know why they did this?

The product is ok but seems to be used and not new as listed. The pages are faded and on some pages I have seen markings....

It has extensive range of synonyms after a very short definition. At 300 no one gives a better option.

Faithful Friend
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 February 2019Verified Purchase
My second edition of the ‘Oxford Paperback Thesaurus’ from 2001 has been a faithful friend but it now has crumbling pages plus several strips of sellotape holding the book together. It was a straightforward and satisfying choice to replace with the fourth edition published in 2018, and it is pleasing to note that content is as good as ever with incorporation of many new words from updating of the latest ‘Oxford English Dictionary’.
Major features remain the same for nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs etc. with synonyms, opposites, different senses, formal, archaic, humorous etc. plus indication of source. As extra to my previous edition this recent publication incorporates a ‘Wordfinder’ with numerous headings and lists to group words for such categories embracing animals, food and drink, clothing, the body, medicine and illnesses, science and technology, transport etc.
The print font remains clear as before with pages in two columns, but instead of both right and left justification the layout is left justified only. For me this makes it clearer to see, and the inclusion of tabs on pages for each letter of the alphabet makes it clearer to use. I look forward to many years’ service from this user-friendly 5-star replacement.

This Qxford Thesaurus is and remains an important contribution to the written English Language, extremely comprehensive in all respects. this particular one was purchased as having damage to the paperback cover however it was and is still fully functional in all respects apart from its damaged cover. This was reflected in the price paid. Still value for money.

Decent size for carrying about with decent content. Arrived quickly and would recommend. As a writer, thesauruses keep my writing fresh and varied which helps avoid monotony. This one does the job and would be good for anyone studying or has to regularly write.
