I think this month I will set a record for 5-star reviews!!
For those unfamiliar with the series, Pages & Co. follows Tilly, a young girl who lives with her grandparents. They own a bookshop. She begins to receive strange visits from individuals she has known all her life, but have never actually met! Turns out, she and her family have an extremely unique gift!
For those who have already read the first, this book picks up soon after the last left off. A new librarian needs to be elected, Tilly is trying to find a way to build a relationship with her mum, and she is going spend the Christmas holiday with Oskar’s family in Paris!
I fell in love with Tilly & The Bookwanderers when I read it and this book is just as FANTABULOUS—maybe even more so because you already know the characters intimately, so no fussing about. We meet new characters , real and fictional, and have a favorite literary character from the first return. Anna does a superb job of capturing the magic in reading and of a good bookstore or library, the moodiness of tweens as they grow up, and the sting of betrayal!! I also love (promise this isn’t a spoiler!) that she points out fairy tales have had different endings as the tale is passed on, I had not realized that!
There is a cliffhanger and I am DESPERATELY awaiting the copy of the third I preordered ages ago!
Buy this (actually, buy Tilly & The Bookwanderers first!) for yourself or anyone who has ever wished they could meet their literary friends in person! Or, if you’re twisted, for someone who swears TV and movie characters are better than book characters.
I have shared this book with my quite grown daughter and my young grandnieces. We are all fans.
