‘The Peaceful Life’ is a soothing balm for these troubled times. Fiona’s new book offers the perfect antidote to the collective anxiety that has accompanied 2020.
To become more peaceful, Fiona urges us to focus on the things we can control, not what we can’t. We are gently encouraged to manage our own thoughts, create a serene and beautiful home environment and tend to the little details that make life pleasurable.
I will return to this gem of a book again and again, whenever I’m feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or just feeling a little bruised and battered by life. This book is jam packed with insights and inspiring, easy to implement ideas for living peacefully and well.
I lost my dad to cancer this summer and was unable to visit him in the 6 months before he died due to lock down restrictions. It’s been hard to make peace with this but after devouring 'The Peaceful Life' last night, I awoke today feeling hopeful for the first time since dad died.
A lovely read for anyone interested in slow living, minimalism and making the most of your home. Fiona Ferris shows how to make your living space a comforting, ordered, stylish retreat from the outside world. This includes how to calm your mindset and feel happier. As an anxiety sufferer, I find her insights - on thoughts and surroundings - really helpful. Packed with inspiration for creating a simple, peaceful lifestyle, full of small delights.
I have read this book through and I’ve found it useful to hear me up to do things like knitting sewing creating something. Also tidying up. It’s made me think of different things to do in my own home. If you want uplifting at this time, which I did, it could be the book for you. I have got some good ideas from it. I recommend it.
I love Fiona's books and this one did not disappoint. Fiona's books really lift my mood and change my thoughts into positive ones. They are self indulgent in the most elegant, dignified and unselfish way. This one is full of ideas and tips to inspire you. I especially loved 'Boudoir time' something I know I need for a peaceful life. I love that Fiona provides words that encourage and questions to ask yourself. Her books are a journey of self discovery. I highly recommend this book and for the price it is an absolute bargain.
I have read a couple of Fiona's books and find them relaxing and uplifting to read. This one is probably my favourite (at the moment at least) - it is my 'go to' book before I go to sleep, especially after a hard or busy day.
