Perfectly Norman is another astounding book by Tom Percival. Norman, who always believed he was a perfectly normal boy, one day suddenly grows a pair of wings. Now is having wings a normal thing? Or should he keep this unique thing hidden? A beautiful story that I read to my daughter, the message, like all of Tom’s stories, is ever so simple. I highly recommend this book, the cover is beautiful, the story is simple with a lovely straight forward message. A 10⭐️ Read
My class love this book so much! I went as perfectly Norman for world book day! Everything about the illustrations, to the message about being yourself is amazing! I love how it discusses how you shouldn’t hide things about yourself as people will love you for you.One of my kids when they were floating in the sky with their wings said ‘wowww that looks beautiful, is it heaven?’ Haha.
This is another lovely book from Tom Percival but only one point I would make about the ending (spoiler alert) the point seems to be that Norman is different with his wings and should be celebrating his difference. Yet at the end, all of the children have wings, so no one is different! Other than that, a lovely story.
Great confidence building book. Gorgeous illustrations. About a boy who has wings but hides them & eventually decides not to hide his natural beauty & flies. Nice message underlying , that even if your different , you can still be beautiful & shine as you are. Great for early primary school age. They ll love the amazing illustrations
This is a super book for any child struggling with feeling different, especially regarding gender roles, although these are not specified in the book. I found it moving and I've read it to children who have either enjoyed it or been deeply moved by it depending on their circumstances. A great addition to a school library.
