5.0 out of 5 stars If you use your initive, this book is an amazing resource.

I had to come back and write this review because I believe this book is getting a lot of unfair stick.
While it is true that the book doesn't hold your hands from zero to hero. It certainly has the content to set you on the way.
I have read other users say it expects you to know and that it's no good for beginners. I beg to differ. The book is a collection of seven books and because of this you need to look at the contents page for what you need and flick back and fourth.

As you can see in my first image it explains articles in French (it goes into more detail on the following page) however the first activity in the book I am unable to do, I'm a beginner. So I looked at how to identify what gender the noun is, a brief explanation can be seen in the second image. In the 3rd image you can see an exercise where you have to write in the correct article which you should know how to do correctly based on the information in the first two images. The fourth and fifth image teach you how to identify and uses a specific kind of verb "er" and if you have been following you should now know how to identify nouns genders (to a basic degree) and how to identify and use "er" verbs. I made the sentence "je accepté le compliment" in a matter of moments from knowing no french at all. Yes it took some going back and fourth, when I have done these exercises properly I will go to the chapter on sentence building, and learn how to construct a sentence correctly in French. The book is ram packed with lots of information and it's fantastic.

I would recommend it to everyone on the basis that it doesn't have a specific structure to take you from zero to hero but it does have the information to do so, so if you know what you don't know and don't mind using the contents page and some initive to get yourself from a to be. I certainly recommend this to you. It's fantastic.
