Review for Hardcover edition.
- Have started reading the book and there is no doubt on the content. Looking to cover the maximum from the book soon.
- What's spoiling the experience is the quality of the paper. It seems to be a counterfeit copy of the original. Better to go
a) for a digital edition or
b) get it from amazon.com by paying some additional charges for international shipping or
c) check if it's available directly by the publisher
- Also, it was a disappointment that when I purchased the book it was of Rs 2199, and on the day the book was delivered it was of Rs 1899 with MRP Rs 1944 by the same seller(same product same edition). The seller has used an additional sticker over the printed price.
The other way to enjoy the book is to get a paperback edition. It must be value for money. No need to pay 5x just for hard-binding.
Hope this helps the future buyers and their experience from the day of the order is satisfactory.
Enjoy the book, Happy Learning!

How are ratings calculated?
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

It’s a hard to find this book and if you are someone who needs to have a book in hand, for the price charged, the book is of pathetic paper quality. All black and white and Washed out. Takes a lot away from the joy of reading. Go for kindle edition instead.

I read this book in recommendation of Michael Lopps on twitter, I really liked his managing humans book and thought this would be similar, it is for the most part except it has an actionable plan sprinkled throughout and an accompanied iOS app which reduces friction from trying to follow advice in the book.

The concepts are good, the framework is also great but the book is too lengthy and repetitive. But definitely concepts about caring personally and challenging directly are must have for any growth organisation.

It can have another name "101 ways to be a good boss"the author is advising on multiple aspects of working in companies and most of the advice is borrowed.better if she have focused on only on how to give crticism!

Really good book to help you build your own management style. Do not consider this book as a bible and I do recommend reading more management books to create your own style. The tools provided are really good to get started to build highly effective teams which trust each other. Not everyone likes Radically candid people so tread carefully when practicing in real life.

Its good. But way long and over explained that reduces interest. Also it takes more time to read just examples.

Great book for the new managers. It covers almost all the aspects and scenarios you come across in your professional life.

Excellent and useful - a must read for managers
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 20 June 2017Verified Purchase
The core framework this book is built around is strong, and the book strengthens it throughout with practical advice and examples. A near perfect example of a business book that gets to its point and doesn't waste your time with padding.
Feedback is such a simple thing, but so hard for individuals and teams to get right without conscious practice. Radical Candor is an accessible and compelling companion for anyone trying to improve this aspect of their work.
I highlighted many passages and shared them with colleagues as I read this book - a sign that reading it was time well-spent.

Incredible. I bought this to try and better relate to my own managers (and it was very useful for that) but it went so much beyond that. This should be mandatory reading for everyone who has to communicate with other people at all. Cannot recommend enough. The methodologies and ideas are broken down so clearly you only need to read the book once and you'll remember 90% of it. Go, Kim Scott!!!!!!!!! :)

Not applicable to Germany/Europe
Reviewed in Germany on 6 April 2019Verified Purchase
My mistake. I hoped there'd be some wisdom in this book also for non-Americans, but no such thing. Office rituals and habits in Europe differ greatly from the described American settings (that I used to be well-familiar with years ago), which does not make this book useful at all (for me) here in Germany.
Being too open and/or too candid in the office rather is a hindrance and not appreciated. Actually, being too open to your boss and/or coworkers opens the door for jealousy and backstabbing which is a threat to any career. (Of course, other people's experiences may vary.)

Be nice to people and Listen - there - saved you a few hours
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 February 2021Verified Purchase
This is the worst book I have read in 2020-2021. The author spends 80% of the time jamming the title 'Radical Candor' down our throats (A model that isn't half as revolutionary as it tries to make out), and the remaining 10% name dropping all the places she worked with and who she rubbed shoulders with. This would have been inspiring and nice but didn't come across as humble and empowering. The remaining 10% was useful and have included it in the headline. Disappointed as I was looking forward to it, but I would suggest avoiding. Shame.

I bought this on a recommendation and have really enjoyed listening to it - very thought provoking

I bought this on a recommendation and have really enjoyed listening to it - very thought provoking. The narrator is an inveterate name dropper and wants you to know all the big names she has worked with so you do have to tune that out but she is prepared to give real life examples of when things have gone badly as well as when things have gone well which does make it seem real and achievable.
