3.3 Stars. Ok so I have to give mad props to Jessica Handelman for the cover of this book because truly one of the best I have really loved looking at.. That being said this is pitched to 14yrs and up just no ok no I would say 16yrs and up but not 14yrs. 10th to 12 graders this book is about college life so I would give 16yrs and up because of the nature of violence and the subject does not need to go into that young of minds in my opinion. This book could have been better if it was just a book and not duo voices between Scarlett and Vivi to me it did not set well, as nor did any of the characters. I did not like any of them. Well maybe the boys Jackson and Mason but not really them it's like they were just add on that really did not need to be there. In the way it talked up Vivi powers like she was the most powerful witch ever let me down completely. This book reads really fast and I don't even read fast lets just say by the time I got to the last 3 chapters I was over it seriously over it. Nothing surprised me and pretty much gives the answer throughout the book. This is just this girls opinion not trying to poo poo on any Raven lovers out there just was not for me. To be such talented Authors I would have expected more. Gina Clabo
Wow! That was a boring book! I thought it would pick up when I neared the fifty percent mark but it didn't. It just kept dragging on and on.
What really were the roles of any of the "sisters' since they don't have a role in the story until the end? And Vivi, God, Vivi. She was annoying and boring. She got on my nerves so much when it was time for her POV. Her mother was trying to protect her, mother's intuition and all, and she was messing it all up because her mother kept moving every couple of years, to protect Vivi and Vivi hated that. And her insecurities, oh my God. I know everyone has insecurities but how could anyone be attracted to Vivi when she doesn't even like herself for most of the book?
And Mason, God, what quality does he have to like-to want to date-besides being attractive? He doesn't have a personality.
Scarlett was the most interesting character--or one of them--and she was the one who lost the most in the end. How is that far? Technically she does get her "happily ever after"--the thing she wanted the whole book--but it didn't seem right in a way.
Anyway, this book is very boring and made me mad at times. Going to try to sell it.
This one is so much fun. A well-written page-turner chock full of witchy goodness. All fans of witches, of Danielle Paige, Kass Morgan, or just of damn good books should pick this up! Highest recommendations!
I must admit that I did not want this story to end. So much so that I would only read a few pages at a time. The storyline was intriguing and captivating and I found myself enjoying every single character. I pre-ordered this book on a whim and I'm so happy I did!!
Well, I had very high hopes for this book. I heard great things about it. I’m not sure what they were reading. This is the first book in almost 10 years that I DNF’d. I gave it the first 50 pages, and could not get through it.
