I have not read this book but recommend it nonetheless as it is one of the first books that my 10 year old has ever actually wanted to read. Reading is a big chore for him - he hates it, and I find this so depressing cos I have made the effort to have so many different books available over the years.
But he actually likes this series! He wants them all, but some of the prices on Amazon are silly, so we just got 2, and he read them straight away and had finished both within the hour.

Not happy, gave this to my grandson. As he is reading it, the pages start to fall out of it. Very disappointed.
Great books for transitioning from picture books to chapter books!Reviewed in Canada on 27 December 2020
My son is 11, and has truly struggled with reading. His autism tends to shine more with numbers than words, and his teachers haven't always had the time or patience to work with him one-on-one. Now that he's in a new school and community class, with full support, he's beginning to catch on...BUT, it's not always easy to find easy-reading books that are also engaging enough to keep his interest. The Ricky Ricotta books are just that. He loves reading them to his dad and I, as well as really, deeply studying the illustrations for story details. His teacher loves that he brings them to school, too. These books have honestly been a sanity-saver for all of us.

Great for early readers -combines comic strip, graphic novel, and early literacy language. Content is perfect for a kid who enjoys adventure/science
