Very deep and impactful story. Might be overwhelming for sensitive minds. .

I think this is a very sad story about a girl who has anxiety but it doesn't really get resolved. I feel like it would have added to my children's worries rather than help them get through stressful times. I found it very upsetting as an anxious adult myself, so I didn't read it to my more impressionable children. I appreciate that real life anxiety doesn't necessarily have a quick and happy ending, but this is a very impactful book and should be considered carefully for the audience. Stars always, for showing diversity in children's illustrations and literature.

A Beautiful book with a strong message.

This is an absolutely gem of a storybook. When Ruby finds a worry, she just tries to ignore it until it almost consumes everything around her, no one else can see Ruby’s worry, not her family nor her school mates or teachers. Then one day she finds a boy sitting on a bench alone, but he is not really alone, he too also has a worry with him... This book conveys a really important message in the most delightfully simple way. This book is a must read for children of all ages parents should definitely introduce this book to their little ones. The illustrations are gorgeous and I have read this book to my daughter several times and she loves it.

Another beautiful story...

I have been so looking forward to this book - we loved "Perfectly Norman" which was, indeed, perfect for us, and this next picture book from Tom Percival is just as lovely! There are not many books around for this age group on worries, so this is a very welcome addition. Beautiful use of colour and a contemporary feel to it make this a great read for any child but additionally very useful to use with children who may be showing signs of anxiety. I would happily use this with children in Infants or lower Juniors (child dependant of course) and can't wait to share it with my son (aged 9 but we still love to share picture books together). Can't wait to see what Tom's next book is about!

Cute book about feelings & emotions

As a children's book Author of 'Happy within'and mother of 2 biracial children, I only look for books where our children are represented and/or there is a good mix of diverse characters. The book is really cute and teaches children how to deal with their emotions, which isn't an easy task with toddlers. It is well written and the illustrations are cute as well.

A lovely way to help children understand about worrying.

My son loves this book. He immediately related to the little girl and the things she enjoys, this helped him recognise and understand worries but also helped him empathise.
A lovely little book to open honest discussions with children that help them feel lighter. I wish I had something so lovely to read when I was a child.
