I've had this stick (256GB) for about 20 months using it about once a month to do my backups without problem.Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 25 June 2020
However, yesterday when I was doing a backup the data transfer between my laptop's SSD and this stick suddenly dropped to something like 330KB/sec and the laptop froze. Nothing would work- keyboard, mouse pad - nothing.
I couldn't even do a restart or enter Task Manager to kill any processes. I had to remove the stick and completely power down the laptop.
Restarted the laptop and inserted the USB stick. Immediately, everything went slow as if something was tying up the CPU and although the stick was recognised in Device Manager I couldn't access it. Removed the stick, rebooted and everything was working normal. Gave it one more try and managed to access the stick's properties before it slowed down again. Was astonished to see it was reported as a 64GB when I bought (or thought I bought) a 256GB - see picture.
To avoid any ambiguity I always perform a full virus scan before backing up so I can only conclude the stick has become corrupted
After reading some other reviews on here I can definitely say there is no blue light on this stick and it is marked 256GB when it clearly isn't.
I would not recommend this product.
