Judas Barron is the worst. Unfortunately, Rhiannon has a taste for his kind of crazy. They’re the same…in a way. Still, their love is toxic. She’s not bad for him, but he is the worst thing to happen to her in all of her years. He brings chaos every inevitable consequence of her life to bear.
Admittedly, I’m reluctant to read book three. I don’t like the idea of her trying to get revenge for him doing precisely what he told her he would. I want to see Rhiannon come into herself and accept her darkness, but not at Judas’ expense. Technically, he never does anything to directly harm her. There was never any malice involved. She, on the other hand, sounds like she plans to become nothing but malice by the end of this one.
Ahhhh, I am so disappointed in this second installment. Do I like the atmosphere? Absolutely, An atmosphere doesn't define a book though. Mrs. Bennett handles gore and ultra violence with brio, as always. This series is not her darkest in that register, and it left me wanting for things that haven't been delivered (yet?). As we get some answers, the storyline drags, and the relationship between Rhia and Judas doesn't evolve either. The books are short but it doesn't mean they should be shallow. The characters' development is lacking depth, or lacking altogether. The toxicity that is regularly mentioned doesn't evoke the strong emotions I am looking for.
Savage Gods Book two picks up where book one ended so, I recommend reading one. Natalie takes up into the twisted mind of Judas without revealing all his secrets. His love and hate relationship with Rhia is soo cute, sometimes I forget that they are still in high school. Rhia is a badass Villain without even realising it. I can’t wait to meet her in the next book when she would have shaped into what she needs to be. The secondary characters I’m in love with and hopefully HOPEFULLY‼️‼️‼️ Natalie doesn’t get rid of her best friend.
Writing is just as strong as the first book. This too is a cliffhanger, but it actually just read unfinished. This could not stand on its own without the first book. While I believe I am quick to dismiss reality in a book, these are teens with endless wealth, training and acting as assassins/ underworld mini bosses. That reads as super mature contents with lots of teen sex and violence.
After I finished Lawless Kingdom, the first book in this trilogy, I was hooked. I couldn’t wait to read Savage Gods. Now that I’m finished Savage Gods, I’m begging for Vicious Dynasty…. Holy smokes!
OMG! So my twists and turns in this story. It had my head in a total spin. The danger and suspense was off the charts. I didn’t know what was going to happen next with these characters. I had my kindle in a death grip from start to finish.
This is one of those books you need to read, and experience for yourself. I can’t say a lot without giving away the story. I will say, the final book of this trilogy, can’t come soon enough for me.
This trilogy got darker in book 2. Judas is everything you want a villain to be. He's hot, unafraid, honest, not caring, and he can bring pleasure as well as he can bring pain. He might love his principessa but it doesn't make him soft. He doesn't change his plans or stop himself from ruining her. No, he stays the bad guy. He does what he needs to do. He tells her just enough and shows her even more. He made a promise to her and he's going to keep it. She might love him back, but she hates him too. I don't think she can forgive him for this...but can she get away? Will he ever let her go?
Good continuation for Judas and Rhia. The deeper she gets into his world, the darker her world becomes. She’s constantly faced with truths that are unbelievable and have her mind spinning. Who can blame the girl? Up until Judas, she never knew his crazy world existed; even though she’s somehow been in it.
Their toxicity is addictive. Their love squeezes my little black heart. Can’t wait to find out what happens next.
I've been patiently waiting for this book and it was great! Judas was ever the crazy alphahole and Rhia is starting to come into her own. I wish there was a little more to this story cause it felt a little rushed, but it was still great. I can't wait to find out the rest of the puzzle pieces in the next book!
All I can say is wow. Savage Gods is another amazing story by Natalie Bennett. It picks up right where Lawless Kingdom left off. I've gotta admit I'm a little envious of Rhiannon and wish I would have had someone as dark and yummy as Jude back in high school. I love the intensity between the two of them. And I adore how tough and psychopathic Judas is yet so tender at times with her. The ending made me tear up a little, I hate the thought of the two of them apart even if it is only temporary. (We all know he'll hunt her down and bring her back eventually) I can't wait to read what happens next for this couple.
