4.0 out of 5 stars An amazing read. Great plot and story.
By Digital Panache on 7 September 2018
I enjoy reading Christi Caldwell books. She has a flair for writing different stuff which generates a lot of curiosity in readers to know what is in the story. Trust me the Blurb is not enough, never enough. The stories generally have a lot, a lot lot more than what she smartly presents in the Blurb. Once, I read the blurb, I knew I had to read this one.
In addition to the story, Christi makes sure that she develops the characters pretty well. These character images remain with you for days after having read the book and that is the sign of a great writer. Penelope's character is very interesting and very odd. You find a young chirpy girl in her who you would want to protect and at the same time she is notorious, she wants to take risks and enjoy her life. Christi makes sure that you enjoy both sides of the character and not try and judge too hard one particular side.
The story is very well written and is quite realistic as well even though, at first look, the plot looks a bit remote. Once you read the story and go deep in it, it all starts making sense of how practical it is. When they eventually get together, Penelope and Ryker, their bond grows deeper and that is, as per me, the foundation of this novel. A very strong foundation. The differences do come up but is the bond strong enough. Christi has demonstrated very strong imagination skills.
Helpful if you want to read something different.
