This is a great book for those who want to get out of the cycle of yo-yo/fad dieting and actually take the time to understand the mechanics of nutrition. There is a comprehensive introductory section around the science of diet and nutrition which is packed full of useful information. If you are looking to redefine your concept of nutrition and food intake this is great.
So far we have tried a handful of recipes and they have all been tasty and filling. Most of the recipes are reasonably basic, which is a good thing when trying to focus on the quality of nutrition and what your body needs to achieve a certain goal.
some excellent recipes to try, very enjoyable and easy to make, i bought this as a kindle app works well for me would recommend it. also if you go to mike's website you can by meal plans which will show you how to implement these recipes to you goal loose or gain weight etc.
Love everything about this cookbook. Recipes are really straightforward and easy to follow. Not like other cookbooks where you have a nightmare getting hold of the majority of ingredients. Love the pancakes and the salmon recipe. About to make the pumpkin and pecan cookies for an easy snack to have in the car on the morning commute. The only thing that could possibly be improved would be more photos to show what the meals look like as I know that can put some people off if they're not experienced with cooking.
Helpful having a recipe book with macro nutrients listed, would love to see more of this. Some of the recipes really do scrape through on the definition of “recipe” though. There is literally one for a sandwich - cut the baguette, insert the pre-roasted beef, rocket and cheese, serve - very disappointing for a recipe book to include this sort of low effort space filler. There is also far too much commentary reminiscent of a food blog for my liking.
I'm in the UK, for me if I'm on a gym routine trying to really follow ultra healthy paleo recipes i don't want to be putting a bottle of Budweiser into my chilli etc. However it's a high quality book just not for me. Returned.
This book is a massive disappointment for anyone looking to get their calories and macros right. It is an excessive amount of waffle followed by some recipes which look nice but are hard to line up due to the book lacking master contents page.
There are also NO meal plans. The author shockingly wants you to pay for them.
