About Sonia Rao
Writer. Editor. TEDx Speaker. Yes, Sonia Rao is all that and also a writing coach and an award-winning blogger.
She also has a Masters in Sociology (and often wonders what if she had done a Masters in Eng. Lit and then a PhD? Perhaps she'd have written academic papers that were understood even by non-academics). And her B.Sc. in Chemistry? The only chemistry she's used has been in etching jewellery in her stint as a jewellery designer, and between the main characters in the sweet romances that she writes nowadays.
But wait! She's also NaNoWriMo’s Municipal Liaison (ML) for all India as well as the founder of the Wrimo India group on Facebook. Sonia has motivated thousands of people in India to write a novel every November since 2011.
Her first romance novel "If You Let Me Go" was a finalist in Amazon KDP's Pen to Publish Contest 2020 while her short stories have been published in many prestigious anthologies. Sonia Rao herself has curated and edited two Wrimo India Anthologies, both of which (as well as all her own novels) are going to the Moon (yes, to the cool luminary in the sky) but that's a story for another day.

Shivalika is a brilliant interior designer who attracts suitors like bees to honey. But she will have none of that. Shivalika has her life mapped out. She does not believe in love at all and is only focused on her career the reason for which is a secret she has nursed since she was a teenager.
But when billionaire Vikramarya Kumar aka VK aka “the most eligible bachelor in the country” enters her company as the new boss, sparks fly and she finds all her beliefs getting shattered, one by one.
Shivalika’s secret has already created havoc once in her life. Will she be able to overcome it to find her happily-ever-after with VK or will the pain of it destroy every chance of finding true love and healing?
If You Let Me Go is a standalone sweet romance novel in the First Love Billionaire Romance series.
DESTINATION: THE MOON
In Feb 2021, an opportunity arrived for the Wrimo India Anthology to be sent to the Moon (and *loud screaming* to be read by future travellers to the Moon) which was grabbed whole-heartedly by the wrimos (wrimos are writers who write or have written a novel during NaNoWriMo).
The idea cropped up very close to the deadline but we wrimos are used to it. And being writers, we always have a story or two lying around which we can brush up and send off to the writing party. Of course, some wrote a new short story/flash fiction/poem in the 24-hour deadline.
This anthology is also path-breaking since it is the first multi-lingual anthology by Wrimo India (do check out the pieces written in Hindi and Marathi).
We ended up with 28 gorgeous pieces of writing which we are sharing with you in this book. There's romance, crime, horror, literary fiction, women's fiction, poetry, flash fiction...in fact, literally a banquet for you to quench your reading thirst.

What is a diary? It can be described as a personal book or even a safe space in which one can record one’s experiences, thoughts and ideas of both one’s outer and inner worlds. What is around us affects us. One aspect of outer world includes crime. This can take many forms: assault of all types, murder, and even fraud. Be it a differently-abled child or a woman undergoing domestic abuse, obsessive love that can lead to fraud and breakup of lifelong friendships or then honour killing - because you are not allowed to decide whom you can love and marry. Be it a modern world, urban or rural, every crime story affects us collectively.
This Diary Of Crime Stories is a collection of 3 gut-wrenching crime-reads that will leave you on the edge of your seat, with their colourful characters and shocking twists & turns, asking for more.
A Wrimo India Anthology
A reply to a perceived injustice can take many forms one of which is vengeance. An eye for an eye can only end up making the whole world blind, is what Mahatma Gandhi once said. And it seems to be coming quite true, if latest events world-wide are an indication.
Is there any hope or are we hurtling towards extinction.
Hopefully, the stories will explore some of these questions.
But that is on the macro level. It might be easy to look at things objectively, in black and white, when it is other nations involved. Or even other people. We are able to be more forgiving of transgressions when they don’t involve us personally.
But how would one react if they found themselves in the maelstrom of situations that do fall somewhere in the grey area of life. With no definite black and white answers?
How would a jilted lover react in face of infidelity? Or how would a friend avenge the murder of her best friend? Or, is it fair to be punished for a crime that you were not brave enough to prevent?
These and many more questions connected to vengeance have been grappled with in this anthology by writers who are first and foremost Wrimos homed in to Asia::India region. Most of them are also published writers of short fiction and novels.
We hope you enjoy reading these stories.
Of course, the fuel for a writer is the feedback they get from the reader.
Do post your review on Amazon if you loved the book. We’d appreciate it.
