The author continues to build his universe. The stories to date have all been interesting and funny. This one is no different and while I enjoyed it, parts of it just seemed too easy for the crew, considering what they were up against. That being said, it’s a fun read and I’ll probably reread it in order to get all the nuances. I have bought the fourth book in the series and look forward to seeing where the author takes it and hopefully makes things a little more difficult for the entire crew and not just the robot. The series so far has a Guardians of the Galaxy feel to it, so if you like those type of story arcs, this is for you.
The Behemoth Job is my favorite of the three so far. I've enjoyed all three but #3 has a better flow between the quips between crew members. I'm finding the old Earth pop references smoother and more endearing (they were a fit forced in the first book, but still funny). Nice twists and turns and I personally enjoyed the lack of devotion to Chekhov's Gun literary law - makes the story more realistic. Fun book; reads really quickly. I'm genuinely looking forward to #4.
I’m not sure why, exactly, but this series continues its chaotic appeal with a storyline which rambles along. Decent character development, even for secondary characters, and enough plot twists to generate interest. Each installment comes to a suitable close, resolving the current story threads before introducing the next book.
I have read each book in this series, so far only 3 I sincerely hope there are many many more, if you are looking for adventure, action, comedy, and just good writing with great characters and a whole galaxy of well who knows what may be the next adventure of the Ghost, and it's crew, seriously give just 1 of the books a try, and you will be reading the others and wishing there were more
Other than a few edits that need to be done I found this addition to the series very good. The idea of very old and living ships is intriguing. Since billions of years have passed since the Big Bang I would think that there has been very early civilizations that created ways to explore galaxies. Love the new edition to the crew.
I really wasn't expecting much from this series (an author's first works) but I've been pleasantly surprised. Good characters, good original stories, I'm even going to "follow" the author. My only suggestion is to not let the series go on and on. I'm thinking... Maybe 6 or 7 to wrap it up nicely. Then on to the next group of misfits.
I read a LOT of "military" style Sci-Fi and although this isn't one Space Fleet against another, it is very, very entertaining. I especially love the characters and the fact that there is one, and only one human in all of charted space. And he's the Captain of a pretty well armed ship. Really good stories and the crew keeps evolving. Thank you sir, may I please have another?
This is a good science fiction adventure novel with numerous alien species both friends and foe. Captain Wil and his loyal band roam the local parts of the galaxy showing all the aliens that good ol’ human morality always wins the day in the traditional science fiction way!
