I would recommend this book to all those who love rick Riordans books in general. I also think all those who love historic gods or action packed books or even a short crossover very once in a while. I gave this book a four because I didn't really think his best language features or descriptions came out in this. Even though it is only short I feel he could have made a better effort to try and add a little description. But, although it's mishaps, this book was still very good and its plotline meandered through different worlds creating a brilliant story in my opinion.
I liked Annabeth and Sadie because they a a bit like each other excepting the fact that Annabeth is the daughter of Athena, Greek goddess of wisdom and battle strategy and Sadie is a magician of the House of Life and favoured by Isis, Egyptian goddess of magic.
I disliked Serapis and his staff because who wants the Greek and Egyptian gods fused together? Certainly not the gods themselves. I think he was a bit loopy and his staff is just brrr. I mean, who takes a piece of three artefacts and fuses them together?
My 11 year-old daughter is enjoying this Rick Riordan series very much. They are a great way to inspire kids to take an interest in Classics. It is a short story so kids will get through it fairly quickly but I believe this is adequately reflected in the price.
I chose a 5 star rating due to the books gripping storyline it's crazy monsters and somewhat humerous nature...the randomness of the book still surprises me... I would recommend this book to anyone with a taste in greek mythology Egyptian mythology any mythology and humorous characters. although I would also recommend reading the first books from both series first...overall a thrilling read. good job Rick Riordan.
Personally I love Any books by Rick Riordan. The detail captures imagination I didn't even know I had. I can honestly say that this COULD have been one of my favourite books that he has written but it was too short. My favourite characters were meeting but only to momentarily. It only took me twenty minutes to finish and I'm not the fastest reader in the word!
My daughter was desperate for something Percy Jackson esque. Although PJ is not in this one it does centre around Annabeth and has a crossover between PJ and Kane Chronicles. It is not long and only entertained for an hour but it was a few pounds well spent.
