Good for the purpose. The handle and shaft are stainless. The rear are not. But do not expect it to be an original branded product. I hope a brand like Stanley wouldn't make a spelling mistake like "wear googles" on its label instead of 'wear goggle '. Upon cab check out the photo I've uploaded.

I have received the hammer in good shape. Unlike other Stanley products which has the brand name on the body of the product, in case of this hammer a sticker with the name Stanley is attached on the hammer. It looks sturdy and handy. The base is not uniformly flat which may cause the hammer to slip during striking a nail. It may be of good use but I have doubt on the genuinity of it being a Stanley product.

Solid construction, and the fibreglass handle is comfortable to use. I was able to pry out large nails successfully with the claw end. I loved the sticker that says "Wear safety googles" (sic).

Update: I used this hammer to drive several (about 30) masonry nails into hard concrete, and the handle absorbed enough of the shock that my hands didn't hurt at all.

I ordered and paid for 1 but recieved 6 hammers in total. Called up customer support and told them that they had given me 5 extra hammers but they replied saying it was a mistake from their end and so I could keep all of them for free. I gifted the 5 extra to 5 different uncles and they all loved it. :)

Regarding the product itself, this is not the cheapest but the best hammer you can get. The fibreglass handle is stronger than wood and at the same time doesn't vibrate as hard as iron handles. Rubber grip on the handle also looks like it'll last forever. The resin that fixes the hammer and the handle feels very sturdy and of good quality.
Stanley is one of the best brands to consider when buying hard tools. You can't go wrong with their products most (if not all) of the time.

I’m a fan of Stanley tools, my entire tool cabinet or filled with Stanley products.
But this product seems to be odd; does not seem to be genuine in my opinion. Stem of the hammer had a Stanley sticker otherwise there is no mention of the brand anywhere, moreover the head of the hammer shows early signs of rust within a week.

I recommend everyone to buy the Stanley fibreglass hammer, it’s stronger and lighter. You have plenty of options if you are on a budget otherwise.

This fiberglass handle is one type of good plastic. It is better then wood and steel handle which can be broken in heavy work. You can get this hammer for your house hold purpose. The grip of the handle is perfect. It go for life long without any problem. 51-187 is little bit heavy, go for 51-186 it is perfect weight for any person. I got it 51-186 350rs and 51-187 410rs with free delivery.
