A nice little read for little ones. Bought it for my 5-year-old but it's probably more suited for 2 or 3-year-olds. He read it, enjoyed it and it's done. Attached are a couple of pages from the inside how it looks so that you can make an informed purchase decision if your kid would enjoy it or not.

Completely meaningless book for a child.
This is like someone got high on weeds and wrote a book.
Something gets stuck on a tree. To retrieve it you start throwing a house, a whale, firengines and what not to the tree and they all get stuck on the tree.
Children needs to be taught stories that appeals to the intelligence and what they can relate to in the real world. Not something that murders the sense of space, proportion and sanity.

The book is adorable. While it is really silly (it talks about Floyd getting is kite stuck and then throwing quite a few other things up the tree to get his kite back), it is so much fun to read. My 2.5 year old is so ‘stuck’ on the book.
Downside though - it gives them an idea to throw things around. I noticed my lil one suddenly throwing things around a lot once I introduced the book.
Also, the quality of the board book is really poor. The pages are old and yellowing, and it’s quality is poor compared to other board books I’ve purchased. The three star is coz of this and not the book !

NOTE: This review is for the physical copy of the book and not for the book itself. I'm a big fan of Oliver Jeffers and this book is absolutely wonderful.
I was very disappointed with the quality of paper that it's printed on. The paper is too thin for my liking and looks cheap since it's a bit glossy. For such a wonderfully illustrated children's book to be printed on a glossy paper is very disappointing. But I guess that's what you get for less that 250 bucks! Would not recommend book collectors to get this copy.

Yes it's hilarious. The tree and the boy change colour to red and blue on some pages, that is the way jeffers is trying to capture the feelings associated with these colours, I.e anger and sadness respectively. A little exaggeration that boy threw the curious whale, a house with a lady, fire fighters and fire engine etc on the tree!! But Yes, it's hilarious.

Absolutely hilarious and his best book by far - more like this one please!

I’ve bought several Jeffers books for my now 4 year old grandson and I love reading them with him. He can be a little serious, but this book made him start giggling from the beginning, leading to full-on laughing the more I read. He wanted me to read it again immediately, and seemed to find it even funnier the second time. He couldn’t seem to stop thinking and talking about all the things stuck in the tree and was very keen to tell his Mum later, laughing as he told her all about them. I’ve spent a fair amount of time with my grandson over the last four years, and I’ve never seen him react to a book or toy with such sheer joy.
I normally rotate the several books I read to him, but today he greeted me at his house with: “Did you bring the ‘Stuck’ book because I want to read it every day forever?” Up to now his favourite funny books have been the ‘Dinosaurs in the Supermarket / School’, but his reaction to ‘Stuck’ has far exceeded those.
Oliver Jeffers has written wonderful books, but I wish he would write at least one more as humorous as this one.

Quirky story and illustrations to match. One of his best.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 7 December 2016Verified Purchase
Oliver Jeffers is proving himself to be one of the most popular children's authors since the distinguished and ever-prominent Julia Donaldson. His construction of humourous stories will appeal to adult readers as much as his quirky drawings will appeal to little ones.
This story is particularly quirky. It tells the story of a boy who gets his kite stuck in a tree and, in order to dislodge it, he throws up bigger and more elaborate things. Without giving away the story, let's just say a whale, some ladders and a neighbours house are involved. Definitely worth reading and treasuring.

Kids love the story
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 October 2018Verified Purchase
Our oldest (6 years) is a bit too clever for his own good and kept on telling us: "That won't work!". The younger ones (5 years) loved the story and even though he wouldn't admit, the older one loves the story too!
We've read the story a few times recently and they still enjoy it.

Great fun. The kids might like it too.

I love everything that Oliver Jeffers does. Where many children's books can, let's face it, be a tedious slog to get through over and over again, Jeffers' are delight every time. His illustrations are beautiful and complement the humour of his stories perfectly. Whether it's your first Oliver Jeffers book or just your most recent addition, Stuck won't disappoint. And, y'know, let the kids read it too.

I really did quite like this book and I know my little boy will find it hilarious. My one comment would be that if perhaps you were using this as a read along, a new reader may struggle with the font slightly. This is a very minor point though, over all this is a lovely read with equally lovely illustrations.
