We have a lot of ideas but don’t act. Ideas that could make the lives of people better, the planet a better place, and that could bring light to the world. There are some people around us who rise to the challenge to do something about such issues.
Change Makers is an anthology of the stories of 11 powerful women Changemakers who decided to plant the seeds of light for the future. For those of us who think that one person can’t do anything to solve a problem, this book is about to illuminate your minds. You are about to be exposed to how the simplest tools on the internet started change ideas that later became movements. These movements were stirred by normal citizens; each of them has a powerful story, and each story has one clear message – We all have the power to bring about a change in the world.

Radha is in for a surprise when destiny throws her face-to-face to her secret college love interest Vishal on an airport. The story is about Radha, how she secretly admired Vishal ten years back and life has come a full circle when she finds him on the airport. Problem is she is now married to someone else. Will she have the courage to break the silence that existed between them since college?
Will Radha choose her shadow or the reflection?
Note: This is a short story with an approximate length of 3100 words.
Excerpt from the story:
When she was in the security check queue, she felt she saw a known face in the next queue. Her mind froze for several moments. Heart failure. "Is that him? Is that him?" She paused. Her eyes wide open, her heart in her mouth, breathing stopped, she froze like a statue for that moment - to see him turn.
How can she forget his face? She longed for that one glance to confirm it was indeed him. She could only catch a glimpse of him and she wasn't sure if it was him. She rushed to the security check. "What if it is him? What if he is Vishal? Vishal! Really? Vishal? No how can he be Vishal? Was he in Mumbai? I never knew he was in Mumbai." She kept blabbering in her mind - her thoughts running faster than the speed of light while the lady officer stamped the 'security check passed' on the navy blue bordered boarding pass. Radha didn't even bother to check the boarding pass and walked out of the security cabin in a trance. "What would it be like to see him after so many years standing on the other side of the security check, waiting for me?"
This story speaks about Vishal, the secret college love interest of Radha - his past life and where Radha stands in it. Did Vishal ever have any feelings for Radha? Did he love someone else? What is he upto as of today? Will he recognize Radha on the airport ?
**************
Excerpt from the story -
THE SEA WAVES GUSHED IN and out. The morning was the same and Vishal turned in the bed, his head reeling with pain like every other day. He jolted out of sleep and sat in the soft bed, pressing his throbbing head with his hands. Eyes still closed, he extended his hand to the bedside table and popped a painkiller. Then he squinted to take a look at his mobile. What the f*ck! It is time. And this pain is killing me. Why do I drink so much that I cannot handle the next day...
As he ambled to the bathroom, everything in the iconic grand suite of Taj Mahal Palace mocked him. He looked at himself in the mirror; the unruly copper colored hair, the sore red eyes, the V-shaped body he once was so proud of. A half-smile escaped his face and the stench reached him as he inhaled. Grabbing the antique copper flower vase kept on the wooden table he threw at himself in the mirror in anger, shattering it. His hands trembled, his lips shake, his eyelashes fluttered, his entire body quivered. You can do nothing. You did. nothing. You will. never. do. anything. You. coward. You rich.yet. helpless. Vishal. He hated for being himself. He screamed in agony.
“Sir, you need anything?” Mr. Haresh, Vishal’s manager, who was sleeping in the next room of the suite chimed in his kitten voice, still in sleep, eyes wide awake and there was sympathy on his face for Vishal.
Vishal looked at him and walked inside the bathroom and closed it, locking Haresh out of his sight, but thankful to him for coming in just-in-time. Separation from Diya had tethered Vishal to his past, tormenting yet calming him every moment.
“How long will you take to get ready Vishal?” Vishal heard Diya knocking at the door. “We will miss the flight. Come fast”
“Just a minute sweetheart.” He said and hurried in the shower. He squeezed the gel on the loofah and rubbed on his body to form lather. He took a deep breath. It was a familiar fragrance - the smell of fuschia and orchids, what Diya loved. He smiled and inhaled the sweet fragrance once again as the water splashed on his body, washing away the lather.
He stepped out with the towel wrapped around his waist, and looked for Diya. And the sight of Gateway of India and the Arabian Sea in front of him hauled him back to present. He trotted to his wardrobe in disbelief. It felt like yesterday when he saw Diya. Diya, the coolest girl he had ever seen - a girl who always donned tank tops that flaunted her pierced and tattooed belly button, and the skin tight jeans revealed her svelte figure. And if that wasn’t enough to woo him, she drove the neon yellow Pleasure bike with shiny polar shades on her eyes and swayed her arm length hair in the air. She was a heady cocktail of beauty, elegance and attitude. How are you Diya! My love. My only love.

"An innocent tale of a teenager yearning for true love and learning that you don't find love but love ..."
-- Amina Arif
Everyone has their version of what true love is. Eva - the protagonist in this book believes in the spark of the perfect kiss before she goes on a date. While she has kissed many guys, she is yet to find that perfect date. 'Kiss of true love' is all about Eva's quest on finding her true love. A light hearted read interspersed with a dose of humour and takes one back to their adolescent years! Especially found the instance of the date with a football player wherein he orders protein shakes and salad much to her aghast, a hilarious one! Nice one Sweta Samota . Also liked the poem in the end.

"After the depressing, macabre feeling which had shrouded my mind due to Paul Kalanithis book, all I needed was a solace to get my muddled brain back in place.
So chanced upon this small, fresh, innocent, mushy love story weaved beautifully by our group member Sweta Samota...and read it in 90 mins flat. (It's a small book and free on Kindle)
Although mushy stuff isn't my choice of genre, I must say I enjoyed reading it."
