Repair cushion - A total hilarious ride and twist, in the end, was enough to increase the laugh aloud. The bond between the father-son, duo was beautifully portrayed.
Journey - A typical situation that happens in many households that portrays an exciting bond between the grandfather and his grandson. Over a simple conversation, anything can happen. Listening to grandparents is not just enjoyable but also informative. Through their guidance, it is possible to reach heights.
Once more - A creepy tale that is sure to send chills down the spine
Dependant - What started off as a beautiful relationship between the mother and son can turn into something. And the praises for the son, oops where did it go?
Komberi Mookan - The title was enough to roll my eyes into the story. A fast-paced one that does give in some important message highlighting the importance of education.
The Troubles of time travel - Time travel stories are always interesting to read. This one steals the show with the logical explanation given and that is a new dimension to the concept of time traveling. The end is twisty as expected.
Help - A nail-biting conversation that does give a relaxation almost towards the end when the final lines reveal the unexpected boom.
Night Ghoul - A peculiar hero's story.
With different plots, the author has made the reader take an unpredicted journey. A must grab!
From unrequited love to serial killer, from time travel to a kid's blabber, from superhumans to ghosts and more such variety, the book is a delectable cocktail of topics! I have recently become inclined at guessing the end of thriller/mystery etc. books but the author has written each of the stories so well, that I let the book take me for a ride. There is a certain joy in simply sitting back and relishing the creativity outpour.
I am in awe of the mind that has set its work to stone here. An absolutely must read for each and every reader out there.
Looking forward to more of your craft, Varadharajan! Thank you for the twist in my reading spree!

ps - My absolute favorite takeaway from the book has been the title to each of the stories. Such a cunning play of words!
17 well-crafted stories, in different genres and styles, make this anthology by Varadharajan Ramesh a delectable read. As the title suggests, all the stories are connected with the common thread of twists and turns yet they are entirely different in theme and treatment. Some stories touch the readers with their poignancy, some thrill with the ingenuity of the criminals while others leave them appalled by the depravity of human minds. The writer astonishes with his skilful portrayal of his characters who are fallible, flawed and thus very real. His words are not preachy yet they make you think with their subtle, inherent messages.
Difficult to pick a few (because each story delights with a unique flavour) but I must mention Repairing Cushions, Mariposa, Dependent, Good Ol' Coop, Lonely as my favourites. Fast pace and gripping narration make it a must read book.
The book is a delightful collection of 17 short stories, all with some or other kind of twists at the end. However, none of them are abrupt, jarring, or out of place. The language is simple and easy to read. That increases the reading speed quite a bit. It took me less than an hour to finish the book, and I was smiling at the end of it.
Be it the cute little kid, a disguised superhero, or a helpless woman, each story has something for every reader. If you are having a reader's block, try this book. There will be one story you'll connect with, and that'll clear your block.
Overall, a fast-paced engaging read.
